1. Limit your plays ? A bad bet NOT played is better than a great bet played!!!
2. Play Straights, straights and straights - Never bet teasers in college and rarely bet parlays. Sure, teasers can be valuable in NFL where you know what you are getting and there are key numbers games land on. But neither of these apply to college football.
3. Timing ? Goes without saying?bet favs and overs early and dogs and unders late.
4. Don?t buy points ? But if you do, always but the half point to avoid a loss versus to get a win. Example?don?t buy a minus 3 to minus 2.5. Buy a plus 2.5 to plus 3.0.
5. New coaches ? Play against 1st year coaches especially at big name schools. Example this year would be Texas and Penn State. (note that USC might be an exception)
6. Consider Correlation ? Take a strong look at overs with teams favored by 50% or more of the line. Focus your research on if the dog can punch in some points.
7. Favs or dogs ? Lean heavy favorites 1st half of season, lean heavy dogs 2nd half of season
8. Things regress to the mean ? Play against teams that got good breaks last season? ex. Auburn. Play on teams that got bad breaks last season or and are looking to redeem themselves? ex. Oregon, USC, Alabama.
9. Don?t discount 1st year QBs ? Young QBs in CFB are becoming as game ready as young point guards coming into college basketball. First years starters have won 4 of the last 5 BCS Championships and 3 of the last 4 Heisman?s.
10. Never play ?catch up? ? Let?s face it. There is a thing called luck. There is good and back luck. But bad luck puts out a stronger vibe. If you wake up on a Saturday morning and the Gods of Gloom seem to be in the room with you, that?s usually an indicator this may not be your day. On these mornings re-read rule number one above and pack it in or certainly scale back your plays.
Good Luck!!!
