Round 1 play (4pts):

Andrew McLardy to beat Louis Oosthuizen -130 @ Five Dimes
McLardy comes into this event on a high having earned his place on the PGA Tour at Q-School last month and having looked at his record in this event, it is clear why he has chosen to play here before moving to the U.S.: in the three years of this event, he has finished 2nd, 14th and 2nd. Naturally, each time he has finished ahead of Oosthuizen, who also enters the event on a high: three weeks ago his wife gave birth to their first child, meaning that he skipped last week's event and hasn't played much golf and, presumably, has been getting accustomed to not getting much sleep!

Round 2 play (2pts):

David Drysdale to beat Darren Fichardt +138 @ William Hill [also available @ SkyBet]
Drysdale may have failed to take advantage of playing on the easier course today, but a look back at his previous record in this event shows this should not have been a great surprise: he had shot an over-par round in two of three attempts around the West Course, whereas he has been par or better in each of his three pre-cut rounds on the East Course! With Fichardt failing to break 70 in five of six previous rounds on the East Course, these look decent odds to back a player who finished 3rd last year and tends to play much better on the tougher course.

Round 4 play (2pts):

David Lynn to beat Alejandro Canizares +100 @ Five Dimes
Backing Lynn to bounce back after his display today. From outright lead at the start of the day, he finished 20th and with no chance of winning, but he has bounced back from similar positions before (e.g. to finish 3rd in the 2008 Open de Espana) so there should be some value in these odds. Plus, Canizares does not have a great record when in the top-10: he has been in this position five times in the last two seasons and has failed to break 70 in any of this final rounds and has always finished further down the leaderboard at the end of the 4th than when he began.
