One bet in this event as winner will likely be one of the three to s Africans, scwartzel, Coetzee or Sterne. A little further down I like the Swedish rookie Johan Carlsson at 70/1 to win. Showed stellar form from Sunday at Abu Dhabi (65) that fed to his next start in qatar where he was in contention until the back nine on Sunday. In a field not as strong as in the desert swing I suspect carlsson to play very well. If the top three are off their game a bit I believe Johan could even win. This guy seems like he's going to be around for awhile. Big guy, hits it far enough. Good short game and excellent putter. At this level you rarely win if you're a bad putter.

Outright
Johan Carlsson 70/1

Round 2 play (2pts):

Simon Dyson to beat Robert-Jan Derksen -110 @ Stan James [also available @ 5Dimes]
A poor opening round from Dyson sees him outside the cut after the 1st round, but he is playing well enough to bounce back tomorrow - he has finished in the top-20 in each of the last two weeks. He has also finished ahead of Derksen in seven of their last nine common events, so a reversal of today's score would be the norm.

Round 3 plays (4pts):

Byeong-Hun An to beat Michael Hollick -110 @ 5Dimes
This is only the second time (in eight events) that Hollick has been inside the top-50 at the cut in a European Tour-sanctioned event. On the previous occasion (2013 Alfred Dunhill Championship), he shot 74-76 over the weekend to drop 37 places, so it doesn't point to him being ready for the step up to such a 'big event', having never played a Tour event outside South Africa. An played well on the Challenge Tour last year and has been far more impressive from tee-to-green so far this week.

Alastair Forsyth to beat James Heath -110 @ Stan James
Two players in the top-5 at the cut, but I will oppose Heath in this position. This is the first time since 2006 that he has been inside the top-5 at the cut, so 'contention rust' should certainly be an issue. With a h2h record of 24-13-1 in Forsyth's favour anyway, the Scot should be the clear favourite in this matchup.

[unofficial rd3 system play: Levy tb Brooks -135]

Round 4 plays (4pts):

Alexander Levy to beat Michael Hollick -125 @ 5Dimes
Opposing Hollick again after the slipped down the leaderboard today as expected. No-one else has hit less greens in regulation after three rounds, so I'll back the Frenchman to take advantage.

Adilson Da Silva to beat Keith Horne -120 @ 5Dimes
10th in driving accuracy and 4th in greens in regulation, Da Silva has played much better than his current position. It was only a triple-bogey six on the 16th hole today that prevented him from shooting a third consecutive sub-70 round, so I'll back him to score rather better tomorrow.
