Outright plays (total stake per play: 1.5pts)

Jason Bohn to win 33/1 e.w. @ BetInternet
If only PGA Tour events started on Fridays! Bohn has not broken 70 in his opening round since the Ford Championship in the first week of March! Last week, he ranked 120th after the 1st round and finished 16th; in his previous start, he had ranked 139th after the 1st round and finished 9th. So he is clearly playing well enough to win his 2nd PGA Tour title; he just needs a decent start. Last year he missed the cut, but that was the seventh missed cut in nine events and on his course debut, the previous year, he finished 14th which was his best finish on the PGA Tour to date. So with a decent start on a course that holds good memories, he should enter the weekend at much lower odds than these.

Shigeki Maruyama to win 33/1 e.w. @ BetDirect
Last year Maruyama finished 7th, but that was in the middle of a period in which he admitted to putting poorly and that is evident from his finishes. His top-10 finish was only his second cut that he made in a run of seven events from July to September. So even though he fell from being 2nd at the start of the weekend, it was a noteworthy performance given his struggles at the time. And he is not struggling at the moment. True, he missed the cut last week, but in the previous two starts, he had finished 13th and 5th and he had missed the cut at the Western Open last year as well. Against this field, 33/1 is rather generous.

Hunter Mahan to win 80/1 e.w. @ Ladbrokes and BetFred
An attractive price for a player who was 1st and then 2nd after the first two rounds last year and eventually finished 7th. He had dropped five shots in eight holes at the start of his third round, but still finished only three shots behind the winner, Sean O'Hair. And considering that he finished 2nd in the Buick Championship only two weeks ago against a stronger field, he should have a good chance of being on the leaderboard again this week.

In an ordinary field, I would make Charley Hoffman around 4-1 to finish in the top 10 on this tour. he's done that 3 times already this season and is an improving player. In a very weak field the 6-1 is value with Skybet and Paddypower and I've taken for 2 points

Between Green Bay and Iowa City
Outrights:

Justin Rose(50/1) e.w. @ BetFred

David Duval(80/1) e.w. @ Sportingbet

Jason Gore(100/1)(1/5 for 1-6) e.w. @ BetFred

Phil Tataurangi(600/1) e.w. @ 5dimes

- - Nathan Green would be next, or not, while O'Hair joins O'Hara (Scottish Open) as birthday boys (thereabouts) working what are already decent spots in other regards. . . It's like Tautaurangi rates as a club pro off a Monday qualifier, IMO . . . Gore is still not fully fit, but he's able to push himself a little more than he could before, which might feel like all the momentum is finally with him, and he's shown one cracking run right about now . . . In response to a forum question, Duval and Curtis were posted as my fantasy men with low salaries to surprise this year, so after missing one coming out moment, I won't turn my back on another in a spot where Duval can "pop early" when another tournament is probably a conscious presence on a daily basis . . . Justin is my old chestnut, or maybe my huckleberry.

GL to all this week - really hard to pull the trigger on anyone in this field - don't know if it's still available, but played Wie to make cut at +185 - didn't shop line and prob could have gotten better, but not too big a play - think she has the game and the confidence to get it done against this field, one of the worst I've seen in a while that wasn't on a true off week (such as whatever crap they have going on on this side of the pond next week)

Starting preparations for The Open Championship - looking forward to the year's 3rd major!!

Again - GL all and I look forward to all of your insight in regards to Royal Liverpool!

What do my last 2 golf plays have in common?

1 - Both on women
2 - Both landslide losses

Should have put more stock into Wie's recent tough schedule (Open, Match Play, Deere)

GL all - LA Burns
