Michele Wie 500/1 oh wait shes not in it this year  I have no idea who I will take now. School just started back today, which is gonna hurt my gambling and capping time. I do think this is a crucial tournament for people on the president cup borderline. Its got to be a crap field when all of the commercials are promoting Zach Johnson :com:

Guys just from last week that stick out are Glover, Parnevick, Leonard ( great finish to the week last week), Perez. I'll be back later once I get motivated. Looking forward to hearing who you guys like.

Chris Riley at 88 to 1 has value.. not really at 60 to 1.. but 80+ is definitely worth a look..

Outright plays (total stake per play: 1pt)

Pat Perez to win 40/1 e.w. available generally
There is a possibility that Perez may withdrawn from this event as his 3rd place finish last week was enough to earn him a trip to Carnoustie courtesy of being the highest-placed player not already qualified for the British Open. But if he does elect to stay in this field, he should see a very good opportunity to further improve his current 44th place position in the FedEx Cup Standings. His 3rd place finish last week was just a continuation of his previous form that had netted him a 4th place at Colonial and a 5th place position with one round to play in the Travelers Championship. And in terms of his course form, he has one top-5 finish in four appearances (2002) and just 2 of 13 rounds over 70. So he may withdraw and prepare for the British Open, but he is likely to win far more money if he stays in the U.S. for another week.

Bernhard Langer to win 50/1 e.w. @ Ladbrokes, Victor Chandler, BetFred and BetDirect
Langer will not be playing at Carnoustie next week, but he is another whose game would probably be better served by remaining on the PGA Tour courses rather than trying to master the hardest course on the Open rotation. He has shown that with two runners-up finishes in his last three PGA Tour starts and he even reached a playoff at Colonial. He does not have Perez's course experience, but considering that he finished in the top-10 in his only previous visit (2003), this course should not pose him too may problems in his current form.

D.J. Trahan to win 100/1 e.w. @ Paddy Power, Sportingbet, Sporting Odds, BlueSq and BetFred
More of a leap of faith with Trahan. He has not achieved the top-3 finishes of Perez and Langer in recent weeks, but he does have good course experience and he is just a warm putter away from shooting some extremely low scores. For even though he finished 30th last week, he ranked 4th in driving distance, 8th in driving accuracy, 2nd in greens in regulation and 3rd in scrambling. It really will not take a great deal to turn such all-round excellence in his game into a victory and at these odds, it is worth a speculative punt.

Pat Perez -110 over Woody

Pretty simple one here. Pat is playin good golf, woody was but he played horrible last week. Pat has some nice finishes here at Deer Run and in the state of Illinois. Everytime I bet on this guy and on Lucas Glover I lose.. So take that for what its worth.

Wow this is a shitty field :com:
Lets go with this play
Kanada -105 over JP Hayes

Kanada is coming off 3 straight made cuts (75,27,12 last week).. he was first in fairways and second in gir this past week, if he made a putt he might have contended. JP Hayes has a sick record on this course but he has only broken par once in his last 3 events missing all 3 cuts. Ill take the hotter golfer at a cheap price :SIB

Date: July 11-15, 2007
Location: TPC Deere Run ? Silvis, IL
2006 Champion: John Senden
FedEx Cup points: 25,000
2007 Purse: $4.1 million ($738,000 to the winner)

2006 Recap
A day after Michelle Wie made headlines by withdrawing because of heat exhaustion on Friday, Australian John Senden turned up the heat, carding a 64 on Saturday to take a three-stroke lead into the final round. A 68 on Sunday was enough to hold off former John Deere champ J.P. Hayes for Senden's first career PGA TOUR victory. He became the second Aussie in three years to earn his first title at the John Deere, and the eighth first-timer to claim victory at this event in 10 years.

2005 Recap
In just his 16th career PGA TOUR start, rookie Sean O'Hair broke through for his maiden victory with a 65 on Sunday to come back from four strokes off the lead. O'Hair narrowly bested Hank Kuehne and Robert Damron after third round leader J.L. Lewis dropped off the pace with a 72. O'Hair was the seventh first-time winner at this event in the last nine years.

The Course
The John Deere Classic moved to its current home, the TPC at Deere Run, in 2000. It has drawn rave reviews and is described in terms reserved almost exclusively for golf courses. The course designer, D.A. Weibring, told the tournament's official site it has "memorable holes with dramatic views of the rolling hills and vistas." According to the TPC's official website, it has "elevation changes of 75 feet, natural rock outcroppings, mature hardwoods, and scenic views of the Rock River." We couldn't have put it better ourselves.

The Field
It wouldn't do fantasy golfers much good to play their top draft pick when he doesn't plan on teeing it up, which is why fantasy owners have to be very cognizant of who is playing each week. As a courtesy, we've provided this link to the official field as provided by PGATOUR.com.

Note: It's a good idea to check this list for the official field of players again on Wednesday, as it is not unusual for golfers to drop out of tournaments in the days leading up the first round.

Nearly all of the world's best players will be on the other side of the pond this week, preparing for the British Open at Carnoustie. While that makes handicapping the action at TPC Deere Run in the Quad Cities this week a difficult task, the dollars and FedEx Cup points count the same this week as they did for Tiger's event last weekend, so fantasy owners can't afford to sit on their laurels.

The Favorites
Masters champ Zach Johnson is easily the most accomplished player in the field. No other player teeing it up this week in Silvis, IL can claim to even rank among the world's top 40 players. That, and the fact that Johnson will be playing close to home in the Quad Cities this week, is the good new for Zijay's owners. The bad? Well, Johnson has not been playing well lately (WD, T45, Cut in his last three events) and has never finished better than T20 in five tries at this event. That leaves the door wide open for Kenny Perry, who has caught fire over his last three tournaments and who carded four top-10 finishes in seven tries at this tournament before he stopped making it a regular stop on his calendar after 1999. Perhaps not coincidentally, 2000 is also the year the event moved from Oakwood Country Club to TPC Deere Run, so Kenny isn't as familiar with this track as you might assume. Still, Kenny's recent play is enough to place him atop the list of favorites. He's joined by Tim Clark, who has started playing better in recent tournaments; and Lucas Glover, who has finished inside the top 10 in each of his last two events.

The Best of the Rest
Given that eight of the last 10 champions of this event were first-timers, things could get very interesting this week. Brandt Snedeker is the top candidate for a breakthrough victory. He has three top 10s in his last four tournaments and has finished outside the top 30 just once in his last seven events. It's only a matter of time before rookie Anthony Kim etches his name on a championship trophy, and it wouldn't be a shock to see it happen this week. Kim has missed the cut just once in his last 14 tournaments while registering four top 10s and nine top 25s in the same span. Pat Perez is also worth keeping an eye on. The inconsistent malcontent is anything but a sure bet, but he's coming off an impressive T3 last week at Congressional and finished fourth place at the John Deere in 2002.

Who's Hot?
Lucas Glover: Glover has not had the impact season many fantasy players were hoping for thus far, but with finishes of T10 and T12 the last two weeks, he's starting to heat up.

Troy Matteson: It's been an awful season for last year's breakout star, but Matteson is playing better of late, recording finishes of T3 and T17 in his last two tournaments.

Who's Not?
Alex Cejka: Last year's third-place finisher has had a rough go of things this season. In 14 events he's made the cut just seven times and recorded one lonely top-10 finish.

Jonathan Byrd: Just when it seemed Byrd was ready to make a nice run in May, he's flopped over the last six weeks, missing the cut in four straight tournaments.

Player Trends
It's not a fool-proof indicator of future success, but golfers who fare well at a particular venue tend to do so time and again. With that in mind, we provide a list of players who have notable trends at this week's event (most recent results are listed first).

The Good
Kenny Perry (four top-10 finishes in seven appearances in this tournament)
J.P. Hayes (2, Cut, T55, T66, Win)
Chris Riley (T61, T2, T5, Cut, 4, Cut)
Kirk Triplett (three top-three finishes at this event between 1999 and 2002)
Heath Slocum (T3, T13, Cut, Cut)

The Bad
Brian Bateman (T51, Cut, Cut, T48)
Mark Wilson (Cut, Cut, T39, T66)
Matthew Goggin (Cut, Cut, Cut, Cut)
Harrison Frazar (no top 10s, best finish of T21 in eight career appearances)
Zach Johnson (T33, T36, T20, Cut, Cut)

The Ugly
John Daly (Cut, Cut, Cut, Cut, Cut)

SILVIS, Ill. ? An additional 10 players withdrew from the John Deere Classic field Monday, including two more British Open-bound players.

Rich Beem, the 2002 PGA Championship winner, and Matt Kuchar, who qualified last week for next week?s major in Carnoustie, Scotland, pulled out over the weekend.

Only seven players remaining in the 156-player JDC field are playing next week in Scotland.

Eight other players scheduled to tee it up this week also withdrew: Ryan Armour, Jason Bohn, Olin Browne, Bob Burns, Robert Garrigus, Matthew Goggin and Steve Marino.

The WDs brought a slew of alternates into the field, among them former Q-C runners-up Scott Gump and Willie Wood.

PGA Tour rules official Tony Wallin said the slew of late exits is not unusual.

?It seems like kind of a weekly occurrence in all of the events, except the majors,?? he said.

On the other hand, Wallin said a few of the departed players might wish they we here come the weekend.

?I think a lot of guys, when they find out what kind of (seasonable) weather we are going to have here, might wish they had come,?? he said

Alright this will be fun. I added a ton of small plays. A lot smaller than what I have been wagering on all year.. Here goes
Dean Wilson -115 over Jose Coceres
Jeff Gove -140 over Carlos Franco
Robert Gamez -120 over Ryan Palmer
Bubba Watson -120 over Heath Slocum
Anthony Kim -110 over Tim Clark

This will either put me way ahead in the rankings or tank me :00hour

still looking over the match ups, but I would advise you fade Zach Johnson. Home town boy always has extra pressure on him here. I watched the practice rounds this week and wasn't impressed with the way he was striking the ball. 2 guys who have done well here in the past were lighting up the course. Woody Austin and Pat perez. Going to head over and watch some of the Pro Am this afternoon.

Bye the way..I have some extra tickets if anyone from the fourm is interested.

Between Green Bay and Iowa City
Outrights:

Jesper Parnevik(66/1) e.w.
- - "Third round (at the Buick Open on Saturday), under ideal conditions, the early starters made their moves, Parnevik leading the charge with the round of the day, an eight-under 64. "I've been struggling the whole year," said Parnevik. "I broke my finger in the second tournament of the year. I broke my toe about six weeks ago. I came in here and I could not keep it on the fairway if my life depended on it. But I found something on the range on Thursday and any time I can find something I know I can play well."" (6.30.07) . . . I looked deep into his record even though I knew it would back up his claim that, "any time I can find something I know I can play well."

Arjun Atwal(150/1) e.w.
- - I like his chances of getting underway at something close to his best, in which case I think the climbs and pitches and turns of this Quad Cities TPC course are suited to his game, the Midwest environs are suited to his pace, and a lightweight field is suited to his heady expectations.

Lucas Glover(22/1) e.w.
- - High on my list of someone that can explode from the doldrums for a huge second half of the season.

Jeff Quinney(66/1) e.w.
- - My choice as fitting the Quad Cities profile for first time winners.

Brandt Snedeker(28/1) e.w.
- - My next choice after Quinney for a QC profile goes off side by side, and offers such value.

but then again I liked Tway who had made 5 cuts in row vs Tripps 5 missed cuts in row and about a 3 stroke diff on scor ave and he's trailing by 9 after 1st round:shrug:
