Can someone explain to me the fascination with this guy? I think his time has passed, yet that won't stop ABC from paying him millions and millions. I think its the perception that he appeals to middle America. I thought he was a good team w/Summerall, but lets face it, they both didn't seem all that well prepared the last couple years.

alot like teams bringing in shopworn old coaches instead of hiring new blood...they signed madden for 4 years.....what a mistake...by the way,brian dennehy playing bobby knight in basketball movie.....i hear they just signed john madden to play in"THE BRIAN DENNEHY STORY"(and he wouldn`t need an ounce of make-up).

LOL about Dennehy. Funny thing about him, I heard someone ask Dick Butkus a couple years ago why he wasn't doing more movies. "I keep losing out roles to Brian Dennehy", was his answer. Can you imagine Butkus playing the role of Bobby Knight?
