St Johns -9 over Fairfield- strong play
Headlines in todays NY Post.Picture on the back page."St Johns Red faced". and "Storm Brewin" "Player assualt looms over Jarvis' program".
Johnnies foward Reynolds assualted a female student. He was arrested and Jarvis let him play.Hattan had to sit out the 1st half of the Stoney Brook game because he was having his hair weaved and was late to a team meeting.
Are the Johnnies upset with all the press. Yes and the poor Fairfield stags have to be their next victim
Stags lost both gunga den and gai. They lost their best player Spahn. They have no pt gd so its by committee. They just lost to Harvard.Delfico can shoot and Garcia is tough.
Johnnies are loaded.Hattan is the best gd in the BE.But Eligah Ingram is unreal. What until you see him play.A lefty TG Ford.Only Eligah can stick a 3 while in HS.With Aba,Glover,Diakete inside the Stags cannot match up.Lyr the Johnnies won at home 95-56 with a tougher Stag team. The line was -15.This yr the Johnnies are stronger with "E" penetrating and dishing.Hattan moves to the No2 gd.The game is up in Conn but Johnnies win this by 20.
This is a strong play.Johnnies -9.

Been there seen them.......not pretty

Been there seen them.......not pretty

Box.......bet with confidence here.

Saw the Harvard and although Ffld had a 9 pt halftime lead ya kinda knew that Harvard would get them. Talent on the floor was = and Harvard was much better prepared.
My guess is that this will be Tim O'toole"s last year. Too bad about being so shorthanded with Deng Gai, Ajou Deng and Jeremy Logan out............but it was the same ol....same ol.
Tyquan Goode is quick but only 5' 7" .........The Stags were more agressive with Terrence Todd at the point. Another freshman, DeWitt Maxwell showed pretty well in limited minutes.
Best showing was from Rob Thompson who had 19 and 5 blocks.

They SHOULD be OVERMATCHED here today at the Harbor Yard.
No big home ad here even as crowd will be about 5000 .... Harbor Yard just opened last year in Bpt.....nice venue
Soooooooooooo..advantage to St Johns at every position and coaching
Last year a 40 point diff and as you point out Johnnies are a better team with solid point play (elijah Ingram)
Whats with the Alabama JUCO transfer....arrested last week and still playing...hmmm....Oh well .....St john's EASY

Bear,I was waiting for your approval.Lyr they blew them away and that was with the 2 towers.Think Johnnies win big.I call this a "luv" play.
Eligah is better then Barrett of the Hall.He has that soft lefty touch when shooting. In 25 yrs coaching my greatest shooters were lefties.Don't know why but they all have that soft touch. This kid is like Nate "the skate Archibold.
I can't believe this about the juco player. He smaked her around, pushed her face against the wall and she broke her knee cap falling.
He should of been suspended.I don't like Jarvis's answer in the Post.I know your innocent until proven but you know Jarvis knows what's up.
Anyway it shouldn't have an effect on the game.
Tim O'toole is someone I know very well.He coached one of my kids in the Empire St games. That when he was an asst. at Army.Worked b-ball camps with him too.We also went to the same HS.
He is a good coach but I guess if you don't win your gone.
Thanks vanbasten.Glad you won on Iona
Right Angle-you are w/o a doubt my favorite capper. No one breaks down a game better then you.
GL tonite.Johnnies win big.They better....

I agree with you about the Arena @ Harbor Yard. I saw the very first concert there last November when Leona Naess opened for the Barenaked Ladies & I remember how much of a nice place it was & very easy to reach being such a short walk from the train station. I like the station being right on the water & having that little boardwalk type deal.

Box,

Sure I remember Rye Beach, Playland.........There was nothing better when I was a kid. I grew up in Greenwich and taught school in Stamford for many moons.
I probably passed you on the Post Road.... Mid to late 60s......We used to head to Port Chester every night where the drinking age was 18 as opposed to CT at 21.
One of my boys just moved back there and another one will probably do the same next year.
How the hell did I get so old so fast...............damn!

Regarding CT today......

I'm not happy yet with CT and NOT quite ready to back them in Nashville........BUT........I damn sure will not bet against them.
(scoreless for 11+ minutes vs GW) and still win comfortably.
How does this team with the shooters they have now and the inside presence ........go scoreless for 11 min???????
The freshmen........Rashaad Anderson and Denham Brown have not contributed much as yet (being shuffled in and out along with Hilton Armstrong) but if either breaks out and gets major PT ............watch out ..........Tony Robertson has been on his game .........Emeka needs to spend a little time on the line but hes solid.
Ben Gordon WILL have an outstanding year..sometimes UNSTOPPABLE, sometimes sporadic. Long and short...CT has 4 potential 40% 3 point shooters (never know it by last game) SOLID D..........is DEEP and can run with anyone, anywhere.

Coach Calhoun needs to get the pieces right! They're better than Vandy home or away but (for me) they need to put a good show on first.

GL today
