With just three races left in NASCAR?s Nextel Cup series, all 12 Chase drivers still have a shot at the championship heading into this weekend?s Dickies 500.

But most NASCAR bettors will be focusing on drivers Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon, who has a slim nine-point lead over the red-hot Johnson heading into Sunday?s race at the Texas Motor Speedway.

Bet the Dickies 500 at betED.com, which has Johnson a slight favorite at +400 followed by Gordon at +450.

Johnson has recorded back-to-back victories at both Martinsville and Atlanta to close the gap with Gordon and now has 31 all-time victories. In 2007, Johnson has eight wins and 21 top-10s in 33 starts.

Johnson has never won at the 1.5-mile, quad oval Texas Motor Speedway, but has three top-five and six top-10 finishes there.

Gordon, who has 81 wins in his Nextel Cup career, also has never won at the Fort Worth, Texas track. Gordon has posted five top fives at TMS, including a fourth earlier this season. Gordon has two wins and five top-10s in his last five starts.

Third-place on the points list, Clint Bowyer, stands 111 points back, but has recorded five top-10s in his last seven races, including a win in New Hampshire.

Johnson was the runner-up to winner Tony Stewart at last year?s Dickies 500. Stewart is +650 at betED.com to win this year?s race.

The total purse this year is nearly $7.3 million, with the winner collecting $521,361.

The race is in its third year but remains a controversial event for some hardcore stock-car racing fans. It was acquired as a result of the Ferko lawsuit, which forced NASCAR to relinquish the sport's fourth major, the Mountain Dew Southern 500. As a result, the race is sometimes referred to as the Francis Ferko 500, mostly by traditionalist fans upset by the demise of the Southern 500.

The Nextel Cup Series continues next week with the 35th race of the 36-race season at Phoenix International Raceway on Nov. 11 for the Checker Auto Parts 500, as Kevin Harvick defends his title.
