lost my job in the cotton business in november - wareagle can attest that we witnessed an unprecedented market flux from march to november. truly sick to think about the lawsuits being filed against companies who tried to do things the right way and ran out of money or had their line called by the bank or lost their position in the market because they couldn't pay the margin - friends having to take friends to court - just heard last week about a guy I had met who committed suicide over this shit.
my wife has an accounting service company that I've been with ever since - but i would have been there along time ago if we felt that all of our monetary eggs could come out of that basket. watched savings dwindle and debt rise and have really run up against the wall here lately
in 2007 i started up a non-profit umpire association that for all intensive purposes trains high school kids to umpire little league baseball and softball. well shit bricks, in 2009 - i now schedule umpires at 4 youth complexes - booked 23 youth tournaments and have also booked 2 high school tournaments - this is my pro bono job and the only money i make off it is when i'm on the field. the season starts in 2 weeks - that'll be nice cause i can get out on the field and make a few bucks every evening but on opening night i need 42 semi-decent umpires to call all of the games. i face what many of you face at work - it's easy to get the 8 other board members to give their ideas on making it better but bloody hell to actually get them to do the work to make the shit happen. it's my own damn fault - i do stuff because i know it will get done right instead of letting someone else do it on the off chance they mess it up - i've got to learn that those mistakes - which do happen - are part of the learning curve. and unless i let that happen i'm stuck running it - so you can see it's easy to type it but haven't made the committment to actually do it
found a job posting for a traffic manager job that was exactly what i did - substitue widgets for cotton. put in the resume - followed up - waited
find out today that the job has been filled - when i asked if my resume would be kept on file - low and motherfucking behold - they can't find it - you see the hr director had a virus and lost all of his emails which is where he kept the resumes - aw damnit - so that's been pretty frustrating
yesterday made a deposit at wells fargo for 1250 - put in as 125 - dont catch the mistake at the drive thru window but do catch it 30 miles later at 4pm - call the bank - 5 fucking business day policy to correct it - give me my case number - call today - your case number hasn't been logged - what the fuck are yall doing to me - call this number sir - hello this is wells fargo fraud division - wtf - let me transfer you - 5 business days - gotcha
get home and gardenweasel threw my name out there - figured that's a great place to just randomly type shit and sitting here right now - feelin a tad bit better
