Have to stop doing college football although I'm doing pretty good this year...my real love is college hoops.. Old South..can you try to keep track of me here in hoops...?
Early games are tough so won't play any to much...think teams are just still in scrimmage phases...you need a few games under your belt to see what freshmen will be impact players, how transfers are working out and team chemistry,etc...most coaches are still experimenting with offenses and defenses. and more importantly shooting %...but after a few games its easier to see what each teams strengths and weakness's are...
Oklahoma -13 over UTSA **
If you read last yr any of my posts you know I love UTSA...they have the 2 top gds scorers in the country in Jackson and Wallace,... Jivan Jackson has grown up.. a head case as a freshmen but talented ...reminds me of oklahoma's Tre Young who now is in the pro's.He can drive, shoot and pass...Wallace is a 6'3 skinny lefty who is deadly shooting.. the Roadrunners inside lost Allen their one true inside player who was a "blue collar" players..they also lost their other gd Niccola the Italian kid...Frohen is tough inside but only 6'6...think they will have problems with athletic, tall, quick teams inside...and thats what OU has ..OU lost its best player but they have Manek 6'9 who is a nightmare to matchup against..he plays in
side and and come out and stick a 3...they have an excellent pt gd in Bein and Doolittle is a 6'7 fd who can score and rebound. Also inside they have about 3 or 4 guys that are big inside...throw in Reaves a tranfer from Wichota who can shoot the lites out...but there ace in the hole is their freshmen superstar gd Harmon...wow... tonight he makes his debut...could be the B-12 best gd ...it might take some time for Kruger to bring this team together but they have talent ..and Harmon might have to play the 2 gd because of Bein at the pt..that means you have 2 gds starting and both can penetrate ...I think UTSA can win the Conf USA or be one of the top teams there.. I think UTSA's coach Henson is awesome...but he was Krugers asst coach a OU...last yr these teams played in San Antonio and OU won 87-67...as good as Jivan and wallace are think the OU defense will slow them down just a little but inside the paint OU has such a big advantage and ae playing at home...think the line is about right...just get scared with a player like Jivan down by 16 or 17 and he takes a fade away 3 pt shot and swishes it and its a backdoor loss...but how is UTSA going to stop this Harmon kid..
