Medical Beat: Would you pay $1 to support a medical fund for retired UFC fighters?

""With the rigors of the sport, many mixed-martial-arts fighters are likely to need medical care when their careers are over and Medicare isn't yet available.
Those hip, knee, back and shoulder problems are very likely to appear at ages much younger than we expect to see among the "normal" non-combat athlete population.
In his latest "Medical Beat," MMAjunkie.com medical columnist Dr. Johnny Benjamin gives his recommendation on how a simple $1 pay-per-view increase could provide millions in healthcare for the retired fighters who will need it most""....

then why the hell did we just pass a miserable, socialistic universal health care bill?...
c`mon!....
shit like this really pisses me off....you mean to tell me that the ufc can`t put up a few dollars themselves to help their meal tickets?....dana and the gang pay their mid to lower level fighters very little....the ufc is an international cash cow....
you mean to tell me they couldn`t siphon a little off the sale of merchandise/ppv`s/t.v. deals to show a little good faith toward their product?...their lifesblood?.....it`s in THEIR best interests...
ppv`s will be rising like the tide in the near future...
nah..gouge the fans.......better to foist the cost on to the fans...
dana`s ehavior on the tuf show gives an excellent barometer on how much the ufc cares about the future of their lower level fighters...he figures fighters come and go....why not gouge the fans a little more and make ourselves look like we care...it ain`t comin` out of our pockets......
don`t like this a bit...it`s a slippery slope...and rife for potential abuse...
..next they`ll be needing more money to run an increasing mma health fund bureaucracy... .
i pay for my healthcare...so should everybody else...pay your fighters a little more....maybe set up something to allow them alittle healthcare savngs account for themselves if their future is worrisome...
keep your damn hands out of my pocket...
