Races 1,2, and 3

Races 1,2, and 3

Race 1 #5 Iwannaholdyourpan (ml 4-1) Making his 5th start since the claim looking for that first win of 2006. Picks up Pierce and with a smooth journey, should find his way to the winners circle. #4 seems to be the biggest threat, while you might get some great value on #3 Tubby who I will also play. I would use these 2 along with the 1,6,8 in any gimmicks. misssed board /show

Race 2 I'm torn between #1 Desmet (ml 9/2) and #4 Cloudex A (ml 3-1). I Will use both for the Daily Double along with the horse to beat #5 Kyrios N. Desmet takes a nice class drop while Cloudex A is up in class off a MONSTER effort his last race to place even after breaking before the gate. The driver is the major question mark. I'll take my chances. Play the 1,5 and 8 on the top and bottom for the per. Place

Race 3 # 7 Jt Arturo (ml 8-1). This is a VERY tough race. I could make a case for all of these. Looking for some odds. #4 would be the logical choice with first time lasix and Morgan, but don't see much value. #5 XLB Joker (ml 8-1) was my choice in this spot last week and has a GREAT CHANCE to pick up a check. I will play this pacer as well. My top 2 on top and bottom of the field for the per. Let's beat the #4! missed board/showed 20-1 !

Race 4 ,5 and 6

Race 4 ,5 and 6

Race 4 #2 Jiffy Popcorn (ml 5-1). Sticking with my selection from last week. This pacer is due for a win and should have decent value. Hands down, #5 Iron Legend is the best in this field and will be hard to beat. I will use him along with 1,4 and 7 on the top and bottom of Jiffy Pop. missed board/ won

Race 5 #1 Cool Flyin Fun (ml 3-1). UPGRADED TO BEST BET!This was my selection from a couple weeks back in the open handicap. Now, this pacer drops all the way down to non winners of $9,000 last 6 starts and gets the rail. Not a big fan of the driver, but the horse alone should handle this field..#9 Next Flight (ml 5-1) would have been my selection if #1 wasn't in this field. He is a MUST use in any perfecta combos. Throw in the 2,3,5,8, for those of you who like the exotics. show/won

Race 6 #5 Elwood J Blues N (ml 5-1) I wasn't going to play this race. 2nd start off the claim and picks up Miller. Good enough for me. Not a stellar field. Watch out for #6 Old Melodies. I've won on this pacer many times over the past 3 years. I did just up my wager on Elwood! show

Race 7,8 and 9

Race 7,8 and 9

Race 7 #3 Mattnifesto (ml 5-1) I would call this my VALUE BET OF THE DAY. This pacer finally gets some much needed post relief and is one of 3 in this field dropping in class. The last time this horse raced at the $40,000 level, it won from this same post. A decent, but less popular driver R. Wolfenden should help to inflate the odds. If you get a real good price, you might want to take a chance. Show

Race 8 #4 Standforsomething N (ml 3-1). Note: Was on #1 Jaccka Rios N and made a change. Still think #1 will take advantage with the 1 hole. It' s all Pierce in the new barn. BEST BET Won

Race 9 #3 Ima Prince Too (ml 9/2). This will be my last wagering race on todays card. This guy was my best bet 2 weeks ago when he won and set a new lifetime mark. Now it's time to find out just how good this pacer is. Steps up to Special Invitational Handicap with the big boys. Didn't fare well back in January with this group, but had a brutal trip. This is a class heavy field, but I'll take a shot with the youngster and Morgan in the bike. Will play the 2,4,5,6,and 7 on the top and bottom . I will POUND this pony if I can get 4-1 or better! show

Let's get some winners!! :mj06:

Straight Butter....

Nice Job!!! You are knowledgeable and do a lot of work!
I have not played the trots in over 30 years. Occasionally at Saratoga but not often....Used to make it to Roosevelt and Yonkers frequently in the old days...Names like Carmine Abbatielo, Buddy Gilmour, Lucien Fontaine and Herve Filion ruled the roost down there back then...I used to count on 1 or more horses coming in at a $20 price.........and it was usually a low 20s so I would play all going off between 8 and 12 -1.........then adjust how much.......sometimes throw in a longer price ...It was the only way to make a buck.....Got sick of having 3 or 4 winners and losing$$ Worked like magic... 1 winner broke even and 2 or more was$$$ played it that way for over a year as I recall....Then I met my wife to be...that was that..
