Well guys....I was in Cherokee NC today playing in the first event of the WSOP Circuit event. It was my first wsop event.

After about 5 hours of play, I had held my own and was picking up momentum. Blinds were up to 250-500 with a 50 chip ante (level 8). I'm in the big blind.

Under the gun makes it 1200 and there is one caller when the action comes to me. I have 4-5 off suit so I kick in the extra 700 to see a flop.

Flop comes out 3-6-7 rainbow. HELLO!!!

I am first to act so I check. Original raiser checks. Last to act jams all in. This couldn't be going any better. I postured for a second to try to induce the original raiser to come in. So I call and the original raiser folds.

What happens next is nothing short of sickening. I show my straight. He shows pocket queens.

Turn card 6

River card Q

Please tell me he didn't just hit a full house. Tell me he didn't hit that.

I'm gutted and left with 6000 chips which I promptly lose on my very next big blind. I woke up with JJ and the small blind had AA.

Tough beat. You think he would have called if you pushed right away after the flop?

Yeah he would've called. No doubt about it. He was pretty loose. But I feel like I played that hand the best way I could have. I was hoping to trap both of them and I succeeded in trapping one.

Tough beat. Did not know they had tournaments in Cherokee.
Sorry to sound sarcastic but at least you did not drive to Chapel Hill and waste 4 hours at Kenan Stadium.

Every 6 months or so the wsop circuit is in Cherokee. I think they'll be back again in April. I'll be there.

My old college roommate called me up on Friday and asked if I wanted to go to the Carolina game. I'm not sure which would have been more painful
