I've joined the new car club too. I bought the wife a 2002 Jag X Type and treated myself to a 2002 Mercedes CLK320. Now, I only hope I can pay for them. ;)

Nice car-
I drove one for a few years and never had any trouble except with everyone else dragging their ass
-recommend using synthetic oil -

I agree with Dr Raider,

Especially if your going to be driving it hard. Are you performing any mods to the vehicle, or are you keeping it original?

Congrats

Very nice cars indeed, did you take a look at the SLK 430? Not sure what the differences are but both vehicles are eye catchers

EMJ32,

I was really excited when they announced the X-Type. I was considering a 330Ci at the time and started looking at the X-Type.

Ultimately, I passed on the Jag because I didn't feel confident about buying the first Jag ever to have all wheel drive and a manual tranny.

Great looks though, just hope that build quality is good and you have no problems with that AWD system.

CLK is sweet. I was so suprised at how much legroom they have in the backseat.

nice cars, we have similar tastes

Time To Make $, I did consider the SLK for a few minutes but it's just too small for me. For a few dollars more, I bought the car I really wanted and I'm very happy.

Infinii, I hear ya about the JAG X type and possible concerns with the AWD. However, I leased this car for the Mrs. on a 39 month lease. Free scheduled maintenance and a 5 year 40,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty = no worries.
Prior to the CLK320 I owned a Lexus SC300, so I'm used to the limited back seat space. I'm a tall guy, so very few people are going to squeeze into the seat directly behind me.

My neighbor came over last night to find out how I got two new cars in a week. I told him I was simply remodeling my garage. ;)

Maybe JSMOOTH knows about Mitsubishi and their ECU problems. ;)

You should feel okay unless you got something against Ford transmissions.
