Don't get me wrong ,I do get upset when I spend the time I do handicapping and the NFL has their mind made up who the winner will be before kick-off.This game was over before it ever started.I know,I know, some of you are going to say"Your crazy,Tampa bay dominated this game, the officials had nothing to do with it." And if you were "LUCKY" enough to be on the Buc's today, well ,let me be the first to congradulate you.But this game guy's,was bought and paid for.
I see all the arguement's here about the call's made in a game, but believe it or not the "NON-CALLS" are just as big. I also know some of you are going to say,"It's the play-off's,they let them play more in the play-off's".Well in a word "BULLCRAP". That's a popular cliche to use this time of year, but it simply is not true.
The NO-Calls on the Buc's in this game are ridiculas. This game was out of the 9'ers hand the first quarter. There was blatant holding on virtually every play. The time brad Johnson had to stand back there in the pocket, will his reciever's worked their way open, while the 9'er defensive line was laying on their backs was a joke. The first holding call of the game against T.B. was right before half-time,which was immediantly a non-call when 1 play later they call the 9'ers for DEFENSIVE HOLDING on a blitz when Johnson was sacked.By the way,I'm 41 years old and have NEVER seen that called in all my life. They call a guy for holding so his team-mate can get a rush on the QB? Even the announcer's could not see what they were talking about.
Bottom line when you take the top defense in the NFL,AT HOME,and spot them that kind of lead early,GAME OVER.
My advice, If you had the 9'ers,lick your wound's and move on.Don't increase your bet to get it back on the late game.PUT NO VALUE in the way this Buc's team looks right now. Don't allow this performance to factor in,the next time this team play's. It will save you money in the long run if you can put your blinder's on in these type of games. THIS IS AN ACADEMY AWARD WINNING PERFORMANCE.And it's being played on a grand stage. Plaes don't allow it to effect your future wager's,it will cost you,if you do.;)

Good advice to SF bettors, but c'mon. Mooch and the boys are getting killed in every way possible. They are a soft team and you knew this when you took the points. The zebras have made no difference in this one IMHO.

Good luck tonight.

That's ridiculous, TB has completely outplayed SF not to mention being out coached.

To blame this complete domination on the officials is ASSININE:nono:

Is it the Zebra defense that is keeping SF off the board or is it the Tampa Bay defense? Two fied goals and the 3rd quarter is almost over. Damn', those officials are hitting hard today. Those injured SF OL guys just can't block the guys in stripes. But heey, I know what it is like. I had Green Bay and Indy. You are right - dismiss the game and move on.

Disagree with about everything you've said - You're asking for holding calls in the NFL; it happens on every play, but one thing that I think that you can take from this game is how Brad Johnson has looked against the blitz.

Their going into Philly with a coordinator that has some of the best disguised blitz packages in the game and hasn't blitzed much in their past two games. With the corners that the Eagles have with them not having to worry about getting beat deep against heavy-footed receivers, Tampa Bay may not score 7 points. Add to that Tampa's defenses difficulty against smash-mouth offenses and it should be a rout. Grabbing Philly up to 10 as soon as the line comes out.

I agree with Bobby. McNabb has to improve. The weather will be against TB. Their running game is weak. Philly should grind them down. The Philly secondary bears no resmeblance to this SF "D" that simply can't stop anybody's passing game. I'm hoping that I can get -3.

Hey "WOODY" I can tell by your reponse,"AFTER THE GAME IS DECIDED"(because I don't see any prediction's of your's posted before the game),That you are a real "GAMER".Have you ever played ball in your life? Have you been out there on the field when your getting held every play,on the road,vs. a good team, with the crowd hammering you,and seeing a insurmountable lead on the board in the first quarter, taking you completly out of your game plan early? We are not talking about a week six match-up with a good team vs. a pathetic team. A superior team overcomes this kind of crap all season long. But not in the 2nd week of the play-off's,where top 4 team's in the league are at home, with a week's rest. If you will look at history, specifically Super Bowl's, and play-off's,when team's see,it's not going to happen for them that day,THEY QUIT. The play calling (knee)right before half, showed that.
I'll match my handicapping with anyone here. The record here show's that. This is a forum to help other's.My thread was to make a very valid point. You keep on looking at games through your "ROSE COLORED GLASSES",that handicap game's in hindsight,I might add. In the meantime I'll try and bring informative information to the forum.
It's crap like this that makes a good hanicapper, not waste his time dealing with this.

Sorry I didn't get a chance to post my plays this morning (and being a newbie I am not sure anyone would care what they were anyhow). Wasn't trying to start a pissing contest here. I have watched your picks over the last month or so and you clearly know your stuff.

HOWEVER, blaming the stripes in any way for this one is rediculous, and I'm sure most would agree.

BTW I'm sure I've played as much or more ball than you. Though I'm not sure what relevance that has to my opinion.

And as I said before good luck tonight. I am with you on Oaktown FWIW.

Looks like an instant replay thread from a couple of weeks ago.

Another waste of bandwidth.

"the bunker"
some games in the playoffs

some games in the playoffs

have been influenced by the officiating....this certainly didn`t look to be one of them.....i am shocked that anyone that objectively looked at this game could take an extremely soft 49er club....sometimes you have to put the anti-public stuff on the shelf when one team has so many obvious advantages....san fran stumbled into the playoffs, stunk the joint out vs nyg`s and were EXTREMELY lucky to escape at home....horrible,injured defense vs rested dominating defense....in a word, a mismatch...but,jbird`s been on quite a run of late.....hated bucking the streak....
