I have to agree. Having heard Schwartz act like a schmuck in an interview, I figured he was the instigator. Not sure what prompted harbaugh, but the video does not reflect faborably on him. You'd have to expect there is some history to this.

Not a Harbaugh fan but Swartz has kind of had this coming with his cocky attitude on the sidelines. I really want to root for the Lions because I love Suh but after watching them prance around after every good play I find it a bit hard to cheer for them. This ESPN writer has much the same opinion:

I agree man!! Swartz has been bothering me as well. Harbaugh was just jacked after a HUGE W and was high fiving, jumping and totally in the moment. I "personally" didn't think the slap on the back was that big of a deal AT ALL! Its not as if he hurt him or anything and didn't understand why Harbaugh took all the blame

The way Swartz came after Harbaugh made HIM look bush league in my eyes and I LOVED IT!! Dont know what words were thrown but only could watch Harbaugh tell him after he was attacking him to "get out of my face twice" To me, it looked like Swartz was a sore loser! Again, don't know "exactly" what happened, but the way I read it....

Digging this 49Ers team though and LOVE the way they are playing football right now. Great O-line, tough runner, solid D and WR's are making tons of great cached. Smith is playing within himself....

i dont think Harbaugh knew who he was shaking hands with (at first), as, in his bounding excitement, just grabbed at an exteneded hand, and in his jubilations lets out a enthusiastic "fuck yeah!"

granted thats not what you say to an opponent after hard fought game, nevermind coach.

schwarz prolly expecting something more along the "good game coach" line was shocked what he heard, (nevermind a bounding grown man coming at him) and understandably, (both) coach(es) being a lil fiery, took it the wrong way.

i dont think harbaugh even knew what he was saying - and to whom, until maybe mid-handshake (and it was quick)- at best.

that said, if i were shwarz, know it wouldnt sit well with me, and maybe he got caught up in same emotional overload as harbaugh did, after handshake.

harbaugh though, not making any friends, least in coaching ranks, as recall story of how spagnolo (rams) wasnt entirely happy how game was handled --and this'll prolly be the case, coaches not liking harbaugh for a lil while, as they maybe had 49ers game marked as win(or at least winnable game), and when they found selves -at a loss- jus plain werent happy. though coaches arent paid to make friends, they're supposed to win games- and for that hafta credit harbaugh, for tapping into team, -and getting effort/results that singletary couldnt.

both coaches got caught up in moment, albeit different ones for each

i'm a big fan of the lions and not total fan of schwarz's punching "boom" antics after every score...as is (usually) plenty of game left, though if thats what works for him so be it.

JUST MY OPINION BUT THE POST GAME HANDSHAKE NEEDS TO GO, ANYWAYS. THE ONLY RESULTS ARE NEGATIVE. IT'S LIKE TAP WATER. THERE'S THE WAY IT'S SUPPOSE TO BE AND BAD :nono:

In my opinion, the taste of water can be okay or bad. Even with the bottled waters, I never hear anyone saying how GOOD it is.......What good comes from a post game handshake? NOTHING HAPPENS OR A BAD INCIDENT WHICH SHOWS UP ON SPORTS CENTER FOR 2 DAYS :0008
