I was looking at the lines for Thursday and Friday, and one game that stands is Illinois +4' and whatever the money line is. I think that Illinois' defense is very good and will try to duplicate what Holy Cross did with the zone. They have the shooters to match up with the Jayhawks also. I think a lot of peope forgot about Illinois for a good part of the season and now they are 11-1 in their last 12 i believeand are peaking at the right time. Take the 4.5 points and take a shot at the money line. Let me know what you guys think and hopefully we can get a good discussion going about this game.

Illinois outphysicaled Kansas last year in sweet sixteen.....however, as i remember, a big key to game was the guy who graduated for Illinois......if Kansas plays like they did against Stanford, going to be tough to beat them no matter how you defend.....also with Simien Kansas can play much more physical and excel.......

Last year Illinois had Sergio McClain and Marcus Griffin, 2 rough and tumble guys inside.....this year they do not.........Kansas has been waiting for this game for a year. This year they are the better team. Remember just last week Illinois lost to Ohio State, a team which was outrebounded by Missouri by double digits and ended up getting blown out.

This Illinois team while playing very well right now is not nearly as deep as the Final 4 team that they fielded last year. In addition if you shut down Frank Williams That leaves only Brian Cook to pick up the slack.

One thing that may be of slight advantage however is that the game is being played on a Big 10 floor in Madison Wisconsin. I do not know how tickets are doled out, but you have to imagine that this is more of an advantage to them than KU. I think that Kansas put out a statement vs. Stanford.

Right now the toughest team in the tourney looks like Maryland.

Frank Williams in today's papers admitted that he could have played harder in the first half. Coach Self jumped his sh*t at halftime, and along with a talking to from his old hs coach (now asst) suddenly Frank comes alive in the second half. He has been inconsistent the entire year and as he goes so go the Illini. I think a highly motivated Kansas team comes out from the opening tip and beats the Illini handily. Good luck to all.

I think we're finally seeing the "real" Illinois team. Not the non-motivated underachievers who lost to Purdue earlier this season. They do miss McLain and Griffin but they do have several bangers in Krupajlia, Archibald and Johnson. McLain really was the leader of last years team. If Frankie Williams is motivated to play, an upset of Kansas should shock no one.
