Guys, i think tonight is a good spot to play the jayhawks. i went to st joes the previous 4 years and have seen almost every game in that time frame. The loss of nelson/barley/west will be huge. Their lack of offense will kill them tonight. They were a great defensive team last year, not sure how they'll be this year. Im hoping that bryant/jones worked extensively on adding to their offensive repetoire because they can't score outside of 4 feet. Add in the fact that SF Pat Carroll will be out i don't see how they can put up more than 60 pts. Their starting five is Freshman Abdulai Jollah at SG, dwayne lee at the point, chet stachitas at the 3 and john bryant/dwayne jones as their big men. None of their starters averaged double digits a game last year. stachitas is a good 3 pt threat but will be their main threat tonight, which is scary. Off the bench is Robert Ferguson who was a big recruit but redshirted last year. Im a little surprised to see him coming off the bench, thought he'd be starting at the 3. If simien can get jones in foul trouble early, watch out. Artur Surov off the bench is pretty awful/clumsy. Another positive is kansas was defnitely over looking vermont and had to struggle for their victory. They should be motivated for tonights game on national tv and im sure allen fieldhouse will be crazy. The only chance st joes has to stay within the number is to hit about 40 % from behind the arc. Im looking at a final score around 75-52 Kansas. I'd like some feedback from someone who follows kansas. If they have a really good inside game its gonna be a long night for st joes. losing carroll is really gonna hurt this offense and stachitas won't get any open looks tonight. another point is that jones/bryant can barely hit 50 % from the line, so fouling them doesn't hurt the opposition. I was figuring this line would be around the low 20's. Kansas -16 for a good size play.
