Just wanted opinions on why he isn't starting Game 2 for DET?? Does he not have enough days rest in between his last start?? Reason I'm asking is I believe he has an amazing record pitching AT Oakland....wonder what Leyland's strategy is here. Seems he's sticking to what got him here and that's staying with the same rotation he had vs. NY.......

Was wondering the same thing......Only thing I can figure is he'll be his possible game 7 starter most likely if he starts game 3.

Rogers looked spectacular pitching game 3 of thr ALDS in Detroit, so why not let him pitch game 3 at home where he has been solid all season long. Plus Leyland is keeping the rotation the same order as it went in the NYY series.

The Rotation is : Robertson, Verlander, Rogers, and Boderman. Why would you want to screw around with whats working perfectly ? Verlander goes tonight and he had nasty stuff last out and the Tigers are 20- 11 as a team when he gets the start. The Three times he took the the ball against the A's this season he had 7Ip/1er , 6Ip/ 1er, & 7Ip/ 3er.

Leyland announced publicly that he thought Rogers expended more than usual in his great performance against the Yankees and therefore he was going to make sure he got extra rest.
