"The Kent State University men?s basketball team (17-3, 10-2 MAC) looks to rebound from just its third loss this season when it travels to Muncie, Ind., to take on Ball State University (10-11, 5-6 MAC), Wednesday, Feb. 12. Game time at Worthen Arena (11,500) is 7 p.m. Kent State attempts to maintain its perfect MAC road record (6-0), having won its last 13 conference away games dating back to last season.

The Golden Flashes are looking to avoid consecutive losses for the first time this season. Losing streaks are a rare occurrence for Kent State, which has lost back-to-back games just twice in the last 165 games.

A milestone should be in store for senior forward Antonio Gates (Detroit, Mich./College of the Sequoias [Calif.]), who is five points shy of 1,000 in his Kent State with 995 career points. If he reaches the mark, he would do so in just 57 games at KSU.

The Golden Flashes recorded the best season in Mid-American Conference history last year, posted a 30-6, 17-1 MAC record, with a second consecutive MAC Tournament crown, and advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament with wins over three ranked opponents.

Kent State and Ball State have met a total of 64 times, with the Cardinals holding a 36-28 advantage in the all-time series. The Golden Flashes have won two straight games over Ball State, including last season?s 81-54 triumph Jan. 2, 2002, in Kent, Ohio, the largest KSU victory in the series history. The Cardinals own a 25-6 record against Kent State in games played in Muncie, Ind. Ball State?s last win over the Golden Flashes was a 76-71 win at Muncie, Jan. 30, 2001."

Can't wait for this game. Both teams should be really pumped up, personally I just see Kent as a superior team, you know they are tourney bound again, and would like to keep that MAC unbeaten streak alive.
