Well, there are a couple of sporting events that I look forward to each year. All of them entail one of these two teams. So when I get to watch them play each other, it's usually a good night. As we take a stroll down memory lane, I remember my first game at Rupp Arena when UK defeated UGA 81-72 under the healm of Joe B. Hall...blah, blah, blah.
Okay on to tonight's game. When looking at this match-up, it is ridiculous to think that the Cats should be a 14' point favorite. No way in hell. BUT as I played against Mississippi State and against Florida State last night because of thier big wins this weekend. I feel that the play is on Kentucky. Do I think they should cover this number? No way in hell! But that's why gambling is a funny thing.
Contrarian view: I think Johnnie Q. Public (better known as dawgball on this board) will look at the loss this weekend, and say to himself that the Cats will come out fired up looking for a "save face" type of game. So is that why the line is so high? Because as stated before, these cats are not 14' points better than these Dawgs. So I feel the play is on Georgia.
"Now wait a minute," you say. I have now recommended a wager on both sides. This may be why I lose money every year gambling.
So who wants to book my plays?
Final decision: Small play with the heart on Georgia plus the 14'. It doesn't hurt that the heart and the head agree this time.
