jinx you forgot Gomes and the 2#1 draft picks. I think Jefferson had to be part of the deal. Sorry to see Gomes go.

You have to hope Glen Davis has his head screwed on right. You put him underneath with Garnet and throw in Pierce and Ray Allen that is a nice overhaul. Pierce and Garnett have about five solid years left and Allen a bit older looks like he can play till 50. Do you guys have a point guard to get these guys the ball? Pierce asked for some help and he sure as hell got it.

With all the expiring contracts the Wolves will have at the end of the upcoming season, next off-season should be very interesting. Possibly the best unrestricted free agent class in a long time, and they will now have several good young players on board and lots of money to overpay for a star or two (which is what it will take to get them to sign with Minnesota).

If the two number one picks aren't totally bottom tier, and Jefferson is the real deal, I think it's a pretty good deal. We'll get to see who of the Celtic one year contract players show up to play here, and who to jettison. Now if we could just get rid of Davis and Hudson, the future could be interesting.

The three man combo of Garnett, Allen and Pierce is fantastic. All three complement each other, and will feed off each other. Garnett will dominate the East from a rebounding perspective. If he did it in the West - with no help at all - think what he'll do in the east with the other two drawing the defense away from the basket.

Sounds like a lot of realistic negative speculation for your dismal T-Wolves... "the future could be interesting" :142smilie

No doubt. It's frightening to think that the Wolves may return to the really abysmal teams of the pre-Garnett era, but that may be the case. The thing is, if Foye continues to mature, if Brewer can be half as exciting as he was in the summer league, and if Jefferson is as good offensively in the low post and can grab 10+ rebounds a game, the future is bright for the Wolves. That's three very solid young players to build around.

The best thing about this day is that the Wolves bought out Hudson's contract for $8 million. If we can just somehow get rid of Ricky "avis" (There's no "D" in Ricky's game...), the youth here won't be led down a lazy, loser path. They'll find themselves on it this year, but they'll be losing AND trying to learn and get better. There's a big difference. Wittman should be a pretty good coach for teaching the right way to play basketball.

Until McHale chooses to just go fish and golf full time, instead of 3/4 of the time he's supposed to be "general managing", the team will never get to another level.

I sat for ten years waiting for the Sixers to build around Barkley and then they finally traded him to start over. Starting over with the same guys that couldn't build around him. I sat another ten years and watch a new group of clowns try to build around Iverson. Watch draft after draft where the player I thought they should take turn into an allstar and the player they actually took stink up the joint. Well Chadman there lies the biggest problem in all of sport. If your front office is full of clowns your team will always jog out to that circus theme. I bet they are giving you the same garbage they give us in Philly as you watched for years as the Timberwolves front office couldn't build around Garnett. Now you are rebuilding with the same guy who couldn't give Garnet some building blocks to begin with:shrug:

Personally, I'm a big Mchale fan from his playing days. BUTTTTTTT, as a GM you only get a true franchise player every once in a blue moon. If you don't make it happen when they're there then I think you should be fired. He should have traded KG before the draft and gotten some picks. Forget getting any players. None of the guys he got will help them win any big games.
