Nor should Dana :mj07:
Dana White is an embarrasment to UFC

As the UFC gains popularity and positions itself to become a major contender in the talk of the biggest sports in the world, unfortunately as big as Dana White has managed to grow the UFC he may ultimately be the man that kills it. While the UFC is currently undergoing unprecedented growth it is also under attack for its legitimacy and the sometimes brutal nature of the sport. UFC athletes can hardly be called role models and sometimes seem to cross the line between what is acceptable and what is not. Perhaps the biggest problem is that the man at the top of this multi million dollar company acts like he is still the head of his college frat.
Imagine if the commissioner of the NBA David Stern had a you tube video where he was hurling insults at a reporter for writing something that didn?t shed a good light on the NBA. Imagine on top of that if he then refused to even apologize for his ridiculous remarks. He would be fired before we even officially heard about it. The stereotypes about UFC fighters are that they are brutal and their fighters are too dangerous to ever become mainstream athletes. Dana White is only supporting this perception about his fighters in his actions and words.
While he deserves all of the credit in the world for growing the UFC exponentially every year, he is what will ultimately keep it from having mainstream success. New York is a prime example of a city that UFC would love to hold its venues, but government leaders are reluctant to allow the UFC in New York citing Dana Whites ridiculous rants as one of the primary reasons.
Is it too much to ask of Dana White to dress appropriately at his nationally televised events. Dressing like a frat boy is fine for the months where you are not on national TV, but blazers and jeans do not cut it. Quit with the ridiculous use of profanity, he sounds like a frustrated high school kid trying to sound tough. Is it too much to ask for him not to curse and throw out profanities at every news conference he holds? He needs to quit talking trash about his stars, last time I checked they were the ones getting into the cage and making you money so stop trash talking about your stars like Anderson Silva. Sometimes it seems like he would rather have these guys fight to the death and have shortened careers then seen true MMA fighting. For the love of god quit making video bogs and finally act like you represent a multi million dollar company.
The UFC will never gain mainstream popularity with this monkey at the helms. They will never be on national television they will never get off of Spike TV, and they will never get major corporate sponsors. Fact is the UFC is going to need bigger corporate backing then Harley Davidson. Dana White is an embarrassment to not only MMA but himself, and the fact is things like his blog set back the organization. You can not deny how far White has brought the UFC under his leadership but things like this can set it back permanently. Fact is the UFC needed Dana White in the beginning to create some hype about the company, I believe the UFC has outgrown the leadership the White can provide.
The UFC needs a friendly ambassador that will open it up to mainstream audience and mainstream corporate backing, instead of a fucking idiot who can?t keep his mouth shut. Maybe it speaks to Whites success that his embarrassing behavior is just dismissed as Dana being Dana. I believe it speaks more to the fact that the UFC is light-years away from being compared to its bigger counterparts. In these major sports the line of credibility and accountability is not only defined but also enforced. It?s like when your parents would say ?if you can?t act like an adult then we can?t treat you like an adult?. Dana its time for you to act like a fucking adult or everyone is going to start treating you like the frat boy adult you are.
