Anyone ever had em ? Jesus Christ - the MF-ing PAIN !!!

Got off the computer Sunday night around ten - and hopped in bed with the little lady. I rolled over once and DAMN - hit like a brush fire. I knew what it was right away since I had one about 15 years ago. Little lady didn't hesitate for a second since she had it before as well...and off we went to the hospital.

Hospital stay was two hours total which wasn't that bad. But for the first hour they didn't give me chit to easy the fcking pain !!! DAMN YOU NURSES !!!

Well, first was the urine sample - luckily I had some juice left to spill in the cup - barely reached half way. Then after putting on the funky robe and getting IV'd up plus some bloodwork then they game me some pain medicine.

If you've had em before you know the pain. SUCKS !

After a CAT scan and an hour wait we were home by 1:30am Monday morning. Doctor said it was 2MM long and it has now entered the bladder so there was nothing they could do - so they released me.

Now, they have a new policy - you pay your co-pay up front - no more mailing it in. $50 well spent I must say.

Here's the kicker...the drugs wore off after 2:30am and I was in deep pain till the drug store opened at 8am...You'd think they'd give me something to go ???? Stupid idiots or stupid me for not asking ?

Currently on Ultracet - and loving it !! 3 pills down only 9 left - saving for a rainy day when I bet $2000 on a NBA game and gonna watch it !! LOL

Just had one about a month ago. MY third.:scared Last one was brutal. Got it six in the morning and tried to pass it for twelve hours before i went to emergency room. 2 hrs ten thousand dollars. This one i couldn't piss and they gave me a script for flomax or some shit like that along with the percs. Took me three days to pass. U don't think u have a stone, u know u have a stone. I even brought a bucket to the emergency room. Then watching people with headaches being called before me was no pleasure. I know mine are calcium related so the days of Ice cream and that shit broccoli are over. The second one i got the night before i saw calcium vitamins in my med cabinet and took two to get rid of them. I pissed that one out after drinking about ten gallons of water. Third one i just couldn't pass. Not a better feeling in the world when u pass that sucker. Fukin brutal. Got a handful of Oxy's ready for the next one.

I used to be a kidney stone factory. I have had about 10 attacks. The pain is unreal. About 5 years ago I had one of my parathyroid glands removed and I have not had a stone since. Knock wood.

at what point do the s.o.b.`s get proactive?...can`t a lodged kidney stone cause a serious infection?...

When they get big u go to the next level. U would be surprised how small they are. The first one i had was a little bigger then a piece of pepper. I was stunned when i saw it. this last one was about three pieces of pepper. This one after i passed it, my side hurt for days. Doc said it was like a piece of glass just aggravating my kidney

Man Stevie. Maybe this is why we are on the same side politically. Ten of them? First one i ever got i thought i puilled a muscle. I was working in a room i gutted out and it had to be about 150 degrees in the room. Every five minutes i was saying to myself i need to get something to drink. I just got to consumed in the work. Then this pain kept getting worse and no matter which way i laid i couldnt get rid of it. Thought i was gonna die:mj07: Finally called my dad up and asked him if he didnt mind taking me to the hospital cause something is wrong. I almost puked in his car. Man what ever is in that IV they give ya i love to get my hands on some. Takes the pain right away. Then it stars wearing off and u feel like crying all over again. Brutal :mj07:

I've had one unfortunately too. There is terrific pain involved when that stone is moving around in your kidney and down your ureter. After mine got to my bladder, however, I didn't hurt any at all. Mine looked exactly like a miniature burr that you get in the woods. I didn't even feel it come out; I just saw a black speck plop down in the filter I was peeing into. Most of the time, the pain is not in urinating the stone out; the pain is when the stone is in your kidney and ureter. Passing it is simple unless it is huge and then u need lithotripsy.

Sponge, the most common cause of stones is not exorbitant calcium intake but a near constant state of dehydration that so many people stay in. This is primarily caused by not drinking enough water and drinking too much cola.

With my pain, I felt if I could move a certain way or stand in a certain position, it would go away, but of course, it didn't. I think your body fires the pain signal and your brain recognizes it as muscle pain.

My stones were calcium. I had one that they said was too large to pass so they crushed it. But the funny thing is that I didn't even know I had it. They saw it during an exray for something else.

my doc says he wants to run some test on why my body is having trouble with calcium. I know dehydration was a huge factor with the first one. Second one i got the day after i took those calcium tablets. The third I believe was also calcium related. I could be wrong but that pain is so brutal im not gonna take a chance to find out. Nothing worse then when u can't piss with one of those. I must have puked 50 times from all the water i drank. Thank goodness for Perc's but it gets a little stressy when u are running out and still didn't pass the sucker. Ah the relief when u piss that sucker out. Greatest feeling in the world. :)

Sponge, a blood test can tell if you have high levels of calcium. The parathyroid glands controls the calcium. You have 4 parathyroids. In my case one of them was large and screwing everything up. So they took it out. All I can say is that I have not had a stone (knock wood) since.

I had one about 5 years ago and when I passed it - it was about the size of 2 grains of salt.

It felt like a pine cone coming out the wrong way.

I think well over 90% of stones are calcium. I'm not familiar with the problem you had, but I'm sure glad they were able to take care of it. That sounds rough!!!! Sponge, I would get the test too, but I doubt u had what stevied had. Can't hurt to find out though, and hope it gets better.
