Clay Travis who loves Clay Travis more than anyone else, wrote the article on fanhouse.com. I doubt that the football program gets much because of this. I think you will see the NCAA go after Kiffin more so than UT. The same would be true for Bruce Pearl, except the fools around here think he is the second coming, so the basketball team will get hammered.
I will never forget the "dumber than dirt sheep" calling the Saturday show I was doing at the time and just ripping me a new one because I said, "This will turn out as one of the most disastrous hires ever." The sheep were calling telling me it was time to move on and get on board and that the fan base has to unite. No, we hired the guy because of his daddy and on the hope that he could get the gorilla Ogre-on to recruit.
He was a joke. He is a joke. He will always be a joke. As I said when he was chirping his mouth off - "Name me a great coach who told you how good he was before he showed you."
Hammy(the AD) should get what he deserves - a pink slip and my guess is that this will give Haden enough ammo to send Kiffy and his 90 year old dad who cannot defend the spread offense, packing.
My boy, "The Count" Dooley, has things going in a much better direction. To land the recruiting class that he did this year was not only solid talent wise, but the commits have a combined GPA of 3.04.:scared
I like what he said about how he and his staff evaluate:
1 - Size and Speed - You cannot compete in the SEC without it
2 - Position Specifics
The next three, he calls "critical factors"
3 - Intangibles - intensity, work ethic, attitude, etc
4 - Academics
5 - Character
Let's examine some of Kiffin's recruits while at UT:
Bryce Brown - gone
Mike Edwards - gone
Nukeese Richardson - gone
David Oku - gone
Darren Myles Jr. - gone
I'm not a recruiting guy, probably because I coached and know that they aren't shat until they do something, but it amazes me how some people will actually pay money to these services who rate guys even though they have never played a down of football in their life. :mj07:
I also love it when a guy commits early to a school, so the services will drop him down to increase the suspense. Fuggin idiots:142smilie
