Best player on the planet, top 5 of all time. I think you can live with that turnover. Did you really not want Kobe trying to shoot there, or at least have the ball to make some kind of play...come on...

id like to see him one of these days trust his teammates, maybe pass it out once, then get the ball back

i agree he's one of the best, but come on, he even said they threw 4 guys at me in the press conference.. i mean if you know that, pass the damn ball, he's playing with guys that can make wide open shots

HAHA...he's not better than Kareem or Magic, IMO, and he's definately not better than Shaq...and I would consider Shaq a Laker because that's when Shaq was the most dominate of his career.

Kobe is so overrated it's not even funny. Look at the dudes fuckin' supporting cast, and compare it. Kobe needs surrounded by good players to win a title, he simply cannot make players better, and he can't do it on his own.

If I were making a list of greatest all-time, he might crack the top 10, but probably not.

How are you comparing 7 feet 300+ pound centers to Kobe Bryant? or any other guard?

Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Lebron James, Jerry West..

those are probably your 6 best guard/forwards in NBA history, you guys can decide on the order ,and if you really feel someone needs to make the list, please feel free to add to it, this IMHO.

Lakers still pull this off. In any worst case scenerio, the last 2 games are still at Staples Center.

Doesn't evryone need to be surounded by good players to win a title............. see Lebron James, no players around him no title.

Not a single good player around Olajuwon his first title(Other starters Smith/Maxwell/Thorpe/Horry). He put the team on his back in SA series. Robinson said he was embarrassed to be holding the MVP trophy after that series.

I hate Kobe and don't think he is top 5 all time with or without centers included, but top 10 easy.
And he is supposed to be this great closer but all I have seen him do of late is turn it over, miss FT's,and get packed(and cry for a foul on a clean block).
I guess that I don't watch enough regular season Laker games because I never see him close strong in the playoffs.

Just a little sidenote.
When the hell is the NBA going to update the 50 greatest list. Their are a few guys that don't belong to begin with.
This list should be updated every 3 or 4 years. The NBA could milk that during the Finals.
Robert Parrish needs to get the boot.

Because we are talking about the greatest LAKERS of all time. We are talking about the greatest players of all time. The discussion isn't about who was the best C, PG, or SF, etc...of all time....

Kobe is so overrated it's not even funny. I used to think that he's better than LeBron, but I honestly think LeBron and DWade are both better.

My top 3 are Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Kobe Bryant.

I know putting Bryant that high is saying a lot but I really do believe it. He's got good players around him but compared to what Jordan/Bird/Magic had around them, this Laker team sucks.

Yeah, its tough to rank from all the generations. I only go back to 1980 where I really have watched.

I will always see Jordan and Bird as two of the best but when you look back to the 1980's, they didn't exactly play a lot of defense and some of the teams those guys competed against were downright awful.

If nothing else, as generations go by, there is a lot more consistent athleticism to deal with on opposing teams. Old men swear up and down that Jim Brown is the best running back in history, but look at how awful some of those defenses are trying to tackle him.

You can't (and I don't) take anything away from Robertson, but I don't put him in the same category as Jordan, Bird, Magic, Kobe, Duncan...
