Bryant called 911 day before surrendering to police

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (AP)? Kobe Bryant called 911 the day before he surrendered to police on a sexual assault accusation and medics later treated a female at his home, officials said Friday.
The Los Angeles Lakers' star hung up the phone without talking, but a dispatcher called back, speaking to three people, including Bryant, before sending police and paramedics, Sgt. Steve Shulman said. Medics arrived at 12:40 a.m. on July 3 and stayed 23 minutes.

"He confirmed that the reason for the call that he made initially was for medical assistance at the residence and the medical assistance was not for him, it was for someone else," Shulman said.

Bryant made the call the day before he returned to Colorado to surrender to police after being accused of sexually assaulting a woman at an exclusive spa. He is free on $25,000 bail.

Shortly after he called 911, medics treated a female at the house but did not need to take her to the hospital, said Vickie Cleary, emergency services manager for the Newport Beach Fire Department.

No further details were immediately available, and it was unclear whether the medics treated a woman or child. Bryant and his wife, Vanessa, had a baby girl in January.

Paramedics were summoned to the house for a similar medical emergency on March 5, Cleary said. During that call, paramedics took a woman to the hospital after evaluating and treating her at the home.

Not good news, WTF was this guy thinking even risking everything for a highschool cheerleading child????Especially when he has an attractive wife AND could get any woman he wanted (except the hard core racist "KKK all the way" goth chicks but most of them are fugly anyways and resemble dudes)

If he is found guilty for this charge, there will be major prison time, they don't screw around in that state. mni/max is 10 years court tv said in that stae for the charge so no gain time you do 10 for 10. I don't care what type of cash sooner or later the hammer is going to come down on a high profile star or big name person. the little guy is getting pissed at being stuck and the rich power people get off. Well this judge is a hard ass and they are not in hollywood, he will keep his state from looking like a fool in front of a national spot light. if i was him i would not be sleeping good right now.

if he is found guilty, that's the big if. He'll get off, no problem. The way this girl has already been discredited, I would be suprised if it ever even goes to trial. Not saying it's right, that's just how it is for the rich and famous.

just key the words "kobie`s accuser" into your search engine.....and check out some of the stuff flying around out there....and some of the joker`s on these forum message boards that care more about the lakers winning another title than the guy potentially being a rapist.....

this is why there `s a rape shield law....but that doesn`t stop defense attorney`s from leaking stuff to the media.....in essence throwing as much garbage on the wall as possible to see what sticks,be it true or not......maybe if you smear someone enough, they`ll drop the case or you can poison potential juror`s opinions before the trial starts......but,when you are dealing with celebrity, that`s the name of the game... .

if bryant`s guilty,i hope he does time...if it`s all bogus, then after the trial, the girl deserves whatever comes her way....

i don`t see any way in hell that kobe doesn`t walk....all it takes is one person for a hung jury......either way.

Latest report is that 2 htoel employees will testify in her behalf. One says she saw her immediately after and she was dazed and upset. Another employee drove her home and heard the story and saw torn clothing. But the most interesting story is this - following night an unidentified NBA player from another team checked into the SAME ROOM! Coincidence- I doubt it.

The implications would be that a friend of Kobe's took the same room immediately to "sanitize" it before the crime scene investigators had a chance to visit.
