Going with Sammy again - a bit like Beem earlier in the year - unfortunately I stopped betting him when he finished 2nd :( Rachels represents value to me - with 3 wins and a 16% strike rate on the Seniors tour he should not be 80/1 - sad that William Hill would only let me have ?9.37 and Bet365 ?13 - so ignored them and went to Centrebet (win only)

Outright plays (2 units):

Bruce Lietzke to win 16/1 e.w. @ Bet365 or Five Dimes (1 unit to win & 1 units to finish in top-5)
Was widely expected to be a dominant force on the Senior Tour this season after he won a couple of titles once he joined the Tour last July, but this has not happened. Lietzke is not a grinder and he appears to have had a large number of poor finishes, but he has won twice this season and nearly always finishes strong when in contention. This looks a large price for someone who has won four times from 27 starts on this Tour and has finished in the top-5 on a further seven occasions.

Allen Doyle to win 20/1 e.w. @ Five Dimes
Easy to predict, but Doyle's winless run continued last week. He's 0-for-25 this year, but there has been a noticeable improvement in his form in the second half of the year. His last seven finishes read 7th, 7th, 12th, 12th, 3rd, 5th, 5th, so consistency is certainly part of Doyle's game and there is every reason to expect another strong, if winless, performance this week.

Doug Tewell to win 30/1 e.w. @ Five Dimes
Two mid-table finishes in the last week have resulted in this price and it is simply too large. He has won twice this season already, finished in the top-10 in his previous five starts before his 'mini-slump' and is in the top-3 of the most important stat categories - driving accuracy, greens in regulation, all-around ranking and money leaders - plus he is 4th in scoring average. Don't expect to see him at this price too often.

Matchup play (2 units):

Bobby Wadkins to beat John Bland -115 @ Five Dimes
Basically expecting Bland to revert back to type this week. Two top-3 finishes in two weeks is something that the South African has not achieved for six years. With head-to-head leads of 6-2 in the last three months and 19-6 in the last twelve, Wadkins is clearly the better, more consistent player with the exception of the last two weeks.

Hoping it's one of his going weeks I'll try Leitzke at 40/1 WHill.

Although he is currently languishing in 28th place 7 behind ... he does seem a slow starter. In his three top 2's this season he improved from round 1 to round 2 by 9 shots (75-66 Audi win), 5 (69-64 TD Waterhouse win) and 8 (70-62 Canada 2nd).... I'll take a 64 today to get in the mix... please?

Had given up on Leitzke... just checked the scores for the first time today and he shoots 62 a day too late. Now in 3rd place but as I am on 1/4 lst 4 expect he will slip to no better than 5th by the end of play!

Final update:

Matchups: 0-1-0; -2.30 units

Wadkins/Bland LOST by 1

Outrights: 1-2; -1.00 units

Lietzke 4th
Doyle 36th
Tewell 13th

Final round 62 by Lietzke was the highlight of the event ... pity about the first two rounds. Was right about Bland reverting to type this week, just didn't expect Wadkins to record only his 2nd ever finish outside the top-50 on this Tour.

Senior PGA Tour ytd
Matchups: 7-7; -1.83 units
Outrights: 20-36; +93.83 units
