PinnacleSports.com Releases Updated Odds On NFL MVP Race

WILLEMSTAD, CURACAO (November 17, 2006)?Now that the NFL season has entered the home stretch, leading online sportsbook PinnacleSports.com has handicapped the race to be named the league?s top player. With a number of athletes having exceptional seasons for teams in playoff contention, PinnacleSports.com has posted updated odds on nine top candidates to be named the NFL?s most valuable player.

The league leader in total touchdowns scored with 18 while ranking second in rushing, LaDainian Tomlinson has solidified himself as one of the NFL?s most explosive offensive players. PinnacleSports.com lists the San Diego running back as the favorite to take home league MVP honors at 2/3 odds. Leader of the undefeated Indianapolis Colts, Peyton Manning is currently listed with the second-best odds at 9/4 to be named the NFL?s top offensive player for the third time in his career.

Although they?re responsible for the resurgences in Philadelphia and New Orleans, PinnacleSports.com lists quarterbacks Donovan McNabb (11/1) and Drew Brees (20/1) as long shots to win the league?s highest individual honor. Two-time Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady, is a 30/1 long shot to capture his first league most valuable player award, along with the Falcons dual-threat quarterback Michael Vick and the Chiefs All-Pro running back Larry Johnson. Meanwhile, New York Giants teammates, Tiki Barber and Eli Manning are listed with the longest odds to win the MVP at 35/1 and 50/1 respectively.

?While a number of players are on pace for career years, this is clearly shaping up to be a two-horse race to be named the NFL MVP,? said Simon Noble of PinnacleSports.com. ?Last year, Shaun Alexander won the MVP after finishing as the league?s leading rusher while setting the single-season TD record with 28 for the playoff-bound Seahawks. Tomlinson is the clear MVP favorite as he?s on pace to break Alexander?s year old TD record and may finish as the league?s top runner on a San Diego team that will almost certainly reach the post-season. Although Peyton Manning isn?t having one of his best seasons, statistically he?s still the NFL?s top-ranked passer and if the Colts somehow manage to finish a perfect 16-0, it will be very difficult to vote for anyone other than the Indy quarterback.?
