Well, I personally liked the Lakers ML paying over 3-1. I said it last year and I will say it again, Dwight is a cancer. Him being out of the lineup didn't bother me at all. I expected great intensity from MWP, KB and Nash all night. I also liked the smaller lineup against the Rockets. So, my meaning of the word "Value" was in reference to a team with their backs against the ropes and maybe performing better without their key big man who is paid and worshipped like Wilt the Stilt, but performs like Manute Bol!
So, KID, that's what I mean by value.
I'll be sure to chime in on your next poor night! Unlike some around here, I know that you have em!
I was going to say something last night, but figured I would let you defend yourself first. I for one thought it was a good play, and there was a lot of *value* in it. Obviously, picking underdogs means that they are favored to lose, but there are plenty of upsets in the NBA. Who thought Charlotte would beat the Bulls a week or so ago, and who thought the Wizards were going to beat the Thunder a couple days ago?? Those teams are both way worse than the Lakers, and like you pointed out, this was a good matchup for them. And the Lakers were up 5 with five minutes to go in the third quarter, and if you were giving me 8 and the ML at that point, I surely would have taken it with a smile.
Like Hashish says, pointing out flaws AFTER the game is really a pointless perspective. I am guessing that in retrospect,
most of us could probably pick closer to 100% than 50% as well. Finally, even if it was a bad play, no point in telling someone that. Everyone makes a lot of "bad plays" at one point or another.
Lots of value in ML dogs - one of the most profitable ventures in the NBA! Get 'em next time, Heatspix.
