Have been to about 25 senior proms overs the years...always had the tell the DJ announce clearly its the last dance...start it at around 11.50-55 and end it as close to midnite...do not go over..we have parents, limo's friends out side waiting ...a little different tonite though its great its the 2 best defensive teams in the country...no one and dones but experience...Vir was on the wrong end of history last yr and are determined to make up for that.. Texas lost its all star team that graduated and are in the last dance..
Vir has that pack line defense that's a little old fashioned and not new...Bennetts dad ran it at Wisky ..Tech runs true motion offense where everybody touches the ball..its screens, back slip, curl and cut...Space and motion are the key and pass fakes watch how many times they pass fake Tonite..there are 2 to 3 cutters constantly moving...Vir divides the court up in half were there 2 bigs stay on each other side...they play great on ball defense Vir on offense will slow the tempo and when they shoot 3 guys drop back for any transition offense..they do not hit the offensive bds..there bigs will be there but they are not going to get beat down the court...
Weakness of Vir..gd penetration.. think Mooney will do that and create someone open... Tech has the best "help side defense and if you watch the feet of the wings they are inviting you to go one way..they over play...Vir offense has 2 blockers and 3 cutters..there blockers screen and "pin" ...Both coaches know what the other's weakness is ...going to lean with Tech +1.5 because I think Mooney can control the ball and attack..its a coin flip...I have a big prop bet on Tech so I have to stay with them.. I didn't hedge it except for the cost of the ticket...really should of but again thats why I'm not in the Caymons retired...
Texas Tech +1.5 over Vir **
Just to mention something... no doubt the Auburn player fouled Key...the ref made a great call since he didn't get to see the replay..some people are saying you let that play out..no way Key would of probably missed it anyway but we will never know...good call...the other call was unreal...I saw it right away and yelled thats double dribble..yet not one announcer mentioned it..it was blatant...he dribbled then went to dribble behind his back and the ball went off his leg,, he picked it up...then dribbled again..no one touched it...there was one ref right on the ball the other was directly across at the mid court... I can possibly see him missing the call because he might have thought an Auburn player reached in and touched it , but if you watch the replay the other ref was right on the player and wasn't blocked out...I am sitting and saying its double dribble yet the announcers never even mentioned it...the refs swallowed there whistle and so did CBS...
I was wondering if all the fans at Westgate,Southpoint etc watching the game were yelling double dribble...just interested or did it no one realize the infraction..
good luck tonite .. Old South owe you big time for trying to keep up with me...Will get your email from MJ and company ..thank you all for the many nice comments and reading those long and boring ass stories...
Now Army's offensive line is looking in pre-season see "Ya'll "in the fall:mj07:
