BEAM ME UP SCOTTY!
Hey Nickel-
Looked at that game last night...and a few things stuck out to me. First, schedules....MTST has played about 1/3 the strenth of the schedule as tennessee, you arent gonna see the getting blown out much, minus the 20plus point loss at Ntexas, but that shouldn't surprise anyone becasue they really havent played anyone.

On the other hand, Tennssee has not really blown anyone out either but their last four home games have been Syracuse, Ole mIss, Florida, and West Virginia....going 2-2 isnt all that bad, and you wouldn't expect a blow out in any of those games...maybe WV, who beat them.....

The thing that sticks out in my mind is that Tennessee seems to play like the Native American teams from this area....very athletic, very undisciplined, very inconsistent....I think they have the talent to blow anyone of the court on any given night, but they also can be beat by teams like WV on their own court, and also barely win against Radford... I am not playing it, I think the likelyhood of this being a single digit win, is the same as the likely hood of Tennessee winning by 30. The defeat of Syracuse could get this team rolling....If anything, I would lean to Tennessee. I think that play would be the contrarian one as well, as demonstrated by the 1.5 point downward line movement so far....

Is there anything I am missing here....

Well, Tennessee just played Saturday with a huge win over Cuse at home. . . they play MTSU tonight, then play at home against South Carolina on Wednesday!!! Three game home stand in six days. . . love the 19 points!

Iron,

Definitely agree that Tennessee has just as much of a chance to win by single digits as they do by 30+ BUT only if the game was being played with Slay and with time to rest before their next game. I think the Vols will be trying to survive tonight and be content with any kind of a victory knowing that this game means absolutely nothing unless they happen to lose it. . . the South Carolina game on Wednesday is much more significance.

Good POints Nickel, and thanks for the link IE...(are you gonna go to the superbowl party?) would like to me you....

I think I am gonna stay off it Nickel, unless steam hits it one way or the other, then Ill play that side with the local...later.

One other thing....are you going to simply throw out the Ntexas loss and treat it as an outlier.???

Suppose that's why I feel Tennessee backers will find value in this play is to look at that North Texas loss. . .

As for me, I tried to cap this game from the Vol standpoint because they can name the score in this one IMO. . . not really gonna matter much to me to cap this game from the other side because MTSU's fate is in the Vol's hands.

With Slay out, the Vols will not want to take any serious chances to blow out a team that is not going to do them any good for Wednesday's game. This is a complete letdown game as the Vols have played quality opponents their past few games now have to settle for MTSU.

If I was smart, I would probably play the VOLS for the first half and take MTSU for the game. . . but I'm just gonna stick with my game bet on MTSU .

Last two meetings of two teams....

67-65(132)
62-63(125)

Missouri last three road games....

81-66(147)Kstate
67-71(138)Iowa State
62-63(125)Depaul

OKlahoma last three games (three in conference)

67-74(141)Kansas...not exactly a slow it down type team
78-51(129)Neb
98-72(Texas Tech)...a team that put up 90 on Okstate..

This team plays running and gunning Maryland Final (72-56)
They play Uconn Final (69-67)

Average of these games after throwing out Texas Tech as an outlier...is 134.4

Oklahoma holds Missouri Under 65 tonight....
Final 74-61 OKLAHOMA

2$=Oklahoma UNDER.....

One more note, I think I have just experienced my 20th 1 point or less loss in the last fuking week....Yst loses by 16...:(

think that total is a little low myself Marty......i think OU causes a lot of problems for Mizzou with pressure defense leading to a lot of breaks.......Mizzou will try to keep up running like they did last year in the tourney with Duke.......

none of those teams Mizzou played so far compare to the style OU plays and none of the teams OU played compare to the style Mizzou plays except for Kansas when only 55 points were scored in the first half cuz the refs let it get out of hand.....which could happen here but most of the action will be on the perimeter with Mizzouri instead of Ks. which tried to force the issue inside with Collison and Gooden.....

I like the over in this one......think 150 is about right.......

As a big Mizzou fan, I think OU wins and the game goes over. I still think ou is the best team in the big 12.

Probably smart to lay off the Tennessee game, but the Vols never led by more than 19 the entire game and finished the game up by 18. . . a win is a win :D
