So. Cal
I have a big post just waiting for this because i have seen more than a few commentators ask this question since there is no REAL sports going on right now that are worth talking about.
Anyways I wanted to hear what you guys thought since this forum has been dead for awhile, and I would post my reply but i am going to go get something to eat and then check back in and post and I want to hear your guys take on who you would take and why.

Wade
he takes command when it counts and Lebron kicks it to his teammates...Wade is just as good as LBJ, although he is smaller he more "slippery" and has killer instinct

LeBron

Wade is a great player, but he plays with Shaq. Shaq makes everyone around him so much better. It is scary to think about how good James would be with Shaq instead of "Big Z!"

LeBron is 21, 6-8 240 and quite a speciman. The only big man
(6-8 or taller) in the open court better at handling the ball and finishing was Magic Johnson. Bird was the best passing big man I have ever seen play, but James will improve and someday be close to Larry Legend IMO. Keep in mind, he's only 21!

Wade is 24, 6-4 212 and one of the best shooting guards I have ever seen. When Wade was LeBron's age, he was still playing at Marquette. He's 4 inches shorter and 30 pounds lighter. It's an excellent debate especially after Wade was the Finals MVP plus carried his team to the title. However, I think when their careers are finished, James will be regarded as the far better player.

Who would win a game of 1 on 1? LeBron every time. It's a question being raised now and my guess is they face off in the playoffs next season and the Cavs take down the Heat. Miami won't be nearly as hungry and LeBron got a taste of some playoff success this year and will be hungry for more next year.

Let me start off saying that i like wade, i used to like him a ton ever since heat/lakers on xmas and he took kobe who i do not like. Wade is humble and an incredible athlete and leader. But for me it is Lebron soooo easily that it makes me laugh that the question is even asked, but for those of you who think you would take wade I will try to make a compelling argument of why lebron is better. I think if there is even a ? of Lebron or wade it is because we have amnesia forgetting everything lebron did this season and remembering only wade in the finals.

Gravys reason for taking wade over Lebron was because Lebron passes to his teamates too much. Well he is guilty as charged he does avg 6.6 assist while wade who i geuss doesnt kick to his teamates avg 6.7 so they are even there, at least stat wise. But if Lebron is so busy kicking to open teamates why is he 3rd in the league in scoring at 31.4 and dwade avg only 27.2?
So Lebron passes to much (avg same assist as wade, and yet he scores more than wade. how can that be?)
I know what you meant, you mean he passes too many times to his teamates and that results in turnovers? Oh dwade avg more turnovers a game than lebron?Well i dont know what you mean.

I have heard different sports personalities Bayless, Mariotti, and even woody paige make arguments for wade. They go like this, "Wade has proven that he can hit the big shot" well yes he has, but saying this would imply that Lebron hasnt, but correct me if it wasn't Lebron who hit back to back game winners against Wizards? And they were not bail out ticky tack go to the line and heres the game "big shots" either. So I would say they are even there.
"Wade has proven he is a winner" Well yes, but hasn't Lebron, I mean taking the pistons to game 7 in eastern semifinals is no knock against him. So they are both winners, Wade just has won more.

But it is clear to anybody as to why. HIS TEAM. Yes hes not the same Shaq he used to be, but name two centers in the east u rather have. And Zmoney is no where close to Shaq. Oh well James has Hughes, but he was injured most season and he wasnt there for most of playoffs. Wade has Walker, Williams, Payton, Mourning, Shaq, and Haslem. Yeah they arent what they used to be but they used to be the best players in the nba. except for williams who is a better shooter now than ever and Haslem. I would take every single one of those guys over the same position on Cavs. Wade wins because of his team.
If only there was a way they could be on the same team and maybe that could help us a lil bit. Granted, this isnt a usual one game, but I think Lebrons stats are better so far in everything, maybe wade will prove that if he is on the same team as lebron his is the better player.

05-06 all star game Lebron and wade played same minutes, but Lebron outscored and outrebounded wade, oh and he was also voted the MVP of that game. It is to note that this "disabled" shaq that everyone says doesnt deserve any credit for wades sucess had 17 points, how many did zmoney have?

One of the questions was,"if you could draft 03 knowing what you know now who would you take", the guy who wasnt medicated said "lebron instantly and no questions" Bayless on the other hand responds "well wade has proven he can qin championship i will take him" -
If you are drafting 03- again heres something to think about, well u shouldnt think you should be a witness to lebron and pick him without a doubt. But Lebron is younger than wade, granted by only a year but his longevity is extremely greater than wade. How many times is wade in the air and falling down hard? Well u know that "stand up 8" commercial that makes no sense, all those clips of wade were from 1 game! But seriously, they say wade is a tough kid, and i dont doubt it. But TOUGH does not trump BROKE. and he is going to hurt himself badly flying through the air the way he does.

Second thing if you are drafting Wade over Lebron you better be drafting a ref with your second pick because Wade is THE MOST BAILED OUT PLAYER IN THE GAME, even over ginobili!

These are the reasons why Lebron is much better than wade, he is a better scorer, he can play more positions, he is a better passer, he is a better rebounder, he is just as clutch as wade( lebron was #1 in 05-06 in player wins). what else is there? Yes wade reminds me of Jordan the way he plays and his desire to win (also the treatment the refs give Jordan is remarkably similar to wades), but there is little doubt in my mind that Lebron will be better than Jordan when it is all said and done.

So I take .............

Lebron.

Wade is absolutely everything you could ask for in a young player, I can't say enough good things about him. BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

I think Lebron is a once in a lifetime talent. I'm not saying he is better or will be better, right now I think you could take either and be ok. But I think in 6 years Lebron has a chance to be one, if not the, best ever. He's too big, too quick and I think he has "IT".

Personally I think we're getting ready to enter the greatest era of the NBA ever. The talent in the league and the talent coming in is just remarkable.

I would take Wade, if there wasn't a LEEEEEEEBRON out there

Wade can take over a game like Jordan. He can score at will and beat any defender

Lebron has to be the choice tho because of his size, inferior age and sheer mass. he is huge

thing is, those who chose Lebron because Wade has Shaq, what about if Wade didn't have shaq? Shaq takes the ball out of Wade's hands and if Shaq was a cav w/ lebron, lebron's touches would be lessened as well.

plus wade has yet to really dial in the three point shot liked he showed during the playoffs. If he adds that to the rep, look the hell out

Well the only thing wade has over lebron right now is winning and they are winning because of the heats team with wade, not just because of wade. So to take shaq away from wade and there isnt even an argument, because wade doesnt win as much without shaq.

Yes it would increase wades touches, but it would severely limit wades open touches, he would be doubled everytime like lebron is, and if wade gets BETTER the more people gaurding him, than that would make him the first ever in any sport. Almost everytime the mavs doubled up wade he had to dish it or he was forced intoa bad shot that he hit one or two fallaways or the occasional foul.

I dont think lebrons size and age are the only thing he has going for him, i think he is a better long range shooter right now, and he is a better scorer and rebounder and can defend more positions(though alot of those have to do with his size)
