I wanted to start this thread to get as many opinions as possible to this question.....

How long is it going to be before Sports Gambling is legalized in the USA across the board?

1. Within a Year
2. 1-3 years
3. 3-5 years
4. 5-10 years
5. Longer than 10 years

My personal opinion falls at between #2 and #3....... Facing the facts of the world the almighty buck rules the world, at least the government, no matter how much various political figures speak and posture otherwise.

The main reason I do feel this way is the way our government sees how well the offshore sports books are doing. The old axiom of, "if you can't beat them, Join them." looks to be the motto to follow. The money to be made from taxes and liscensing would be obscene.

Just want to know others opinions on this subject. Such as when, which state would be first (outside of Nevada), etc.......

HAPPY CAPPER,

I WISH LIKE HELL YOU WERE RIGHT BUT BEING BORN AND RAISED IN THE BIBLE BELT (N.C.) I AM AFRAID THE SOUTH IS A LONG WAY OFF FROM LEGALIZED GAMING. OUR STATE STILL HAS NO LOTTERY AND NONE ON THE HORIZON. OUR SISTER STATE SOUTH CAROLINA TOOK A HUGE STEP BACK LAST JULY 1 AND BANNED ALL VIDIO POKER MACHINES THROUGHOUT THE STATE. SOMETHING THAT HAD BEEN ON GOING FOR THE PAST TWENTY SOME YEARS. S.C. HAS STILL NOT ADOPTED A STATE LOTTERY SYSTEM EVENTHOUGH THE VOTERS APPROVED OF ITS LEGALAZTION LAST FALL.
THERE IS ALSO A CONSTANT BATTLE IN THE STATE HOUSE IN S.C. CONCERNING THE OFF-SHORING GAMBLING BOATS OFF THE COAST OFF LITTLE RIVER.

I HOPE YOUR RIGHT BUT WHERE I COME FROM I JUST DONT SEE IT COMING OUR WAY ANY TIME SOON.

It's hard to say about what each state will do with the gambling issue. I could see legal sports gaming in Nevada and online but can't see them leagalizing everywhere. The money may run the show but the politics of this goes very deep.

the new american pastime is NFL.
ill venture 50 years down the path where pointspreads are spotted to teams on the board before kickoff.if the gov. is makin abuck there wont be any backdoor covers.

sounds looney but if cyberroxy says team A -6.5

public piles it to 8

team B is spotted 8 points on the board before the game starts.

thus team A must cover to win.

team and player salaries will be based soley on performance and wins aka xfl.

new name..democratic football leage starts 2052.

pat buchannon jr. passes bill to allow gambling based ira's...

mnf presents "the best of deirdorf every week"...

i think thats enough.
