is on the duece right now. I personally think Haglar won or at least should have drawn. To lose was a misjustice. Any thoughts??

I was only 10 at the time but Hagler was my favorite boxer at the time and I was ticked and I thought he got robbed. What a fight, though. I have to give Leonard credit for making those peashooter punches look stronger than they really were. He fooled the judges and I guess that is what counts, but at least Gator and I know who really won.

Did anyone happen to see the Ali -Foeman fight before that? No matter how many times I see that- its great. What human drama! Ali completely wears Foreman out. Fools him into feeling safe. Ali lands a few stiff jabs early in the round and then goes into the rope-a-doap the remainder of the round- completely exhausting Foreman.
Every time I see the knockout and hear the roar of the crowd I get goose bumps- particularly knowing all the things that happened before the fight and all the things that have happened almost 30 years after.
If anyone has not seen When We Were Kings than go out and rent immeaditely.
Any opinions on this weekend's fight? I've started a topic under boxing but have had no response. I'd love to talk some boxing! Come on fellas!

I agree with the above. Hagler. And yes Ali was very smart that night. I wish he had not stay around as long as he did. Im sure some of those hits he took over the years. They added to his condition now. As young man he was as fast as light weight with his hands.
