After perusing this site for about a year& being very impressed with most of the cappers on this site,I thought it was time for me to join in on the fun. I hve been betting football on & off since I was 17 years old.My very first bet was on Super Bowl 1.It was a 2x bet on Green Bay.Since I won that bet without doing any research,I thought betting on football games would be a piece of cake.How naive was I? Well after years of getting knocked around pretty good,I have learned that it takes time & effort to win consistently.Now I read everything that I can get my hands on pertaining to football.That includes everyone's posts on this site.I figure that if a person can take time to post what they are thinking about a game,the least I can do is read it.Never know what I might learn. Hopefully I will be able to contribute to this forum & enjoy myself doing it.I also post on another board(hope that is not a problem). BTW...I have not used a local BM since I relocated to Arizona from NY 10 years ago.Do the locals still refer to bets as times(2x,10x,20x,etc.)?Just curious.I use offshore books & they do not know what I am talking about when I accidently refer to a bet as times. Finally I would like to wish everyone good luck in the upcoming season & remember it is a marathon,not a sprint to the finish line.

LOL........I know what you mean about some other parts of the country not knowing what a 10x or 60x bet is! I grew up here in Greenwich, Connecticut and my locals were from The Bronx. Everything I bet was "40 times and 60 times."
But then when I attended college at Indiana University and the local BM's in Bloomington had NO CLUE what I was talking about. Instead of saying I wanted a 60-timer on St. John's I had to say 3 hundered dollars. It took me months to get used to!!
Maybe it's just a NY area thing done for protection.

AR182 welcome. Want to make alittle extra before the football wars start. Check the motor sports forum. Do what 1837 and Stanley suggest. They are very very good. I have started to go light on the race it self. But Qualifying play it.
