goin to vegas to see the fight. first ufc that i'm goin to. didnt want to disrupt someone elses thread, but i see this one goin to couture. i agree that randy might be done, but i'm thinkin randy regroups and wins it. randy has so much experience fighting that i think he can get it done.

The value is obviously on Couture but I didn't really like how he looked against Van Arsdale. Plus it's going to be tough facing the guy who knocked you silly the last time you saw him. Couture will need a good strategy to win that's for sure.

MayorgaFan, I agree with you that Randy did not look good in his last fight and not that I believe everyting Dana(pres of UFC) says but I did just see the other night that he said Randy was hurt before that fight. I can't remember exactly but I think he hurt his knee or something and still wanted to fight so he didn't let anyone know. I think Chuck gets this one, he's on top of his game right now and if he can't get Chuckie to the ground then it could be a real beating. There is NO WAY he out punches Chuck like he did in the first fight.

i hear the van arsdale stuff...i did something i seldom.....no.....almost never do....i laid a little over 3 to 1 on babalu sobral....
i know van arsdale`s a wrestler...and that randleman beat sobral 3 or 4 years ago....
but sobral`s level of competition.....his body of work...his improvement...his well rounded game...with wins over some very top tier fighters....
in van arsdale...i see a guy that`s over 40....and i just think that sobral will have to much....i don`t see any wins over big time competition....the losses were to the best....but,no big wins...
sobral`s tough as nails...on the verge of a title shot,some think..
although,anything can happen....

Gardenweasel, I've been on the fence with that same bet. I hate betting favs in most sports but in MMA I don't mind. The only reason I won't take this fight is because I already have 3 plays down and they're on favs. Saying that, I would be very suprised to see this go past the first round. VanArsdale seemed to have nothing angainst Couture. If can I can get a bet on a first round knock out that's what I'll be taking.

btw....as far as couture is concerned,i took him at somewhere between +150 and +170....
i know that liddell is tough to take down...i get that....
but,you don`t stand up with him...period...
i saw couture do it...i saw jeremy horn do it...i didn`t see these guys working hard enough to get chuck on the ropes or take him down....stupid...
the guys that fare well against liddell are aggressive,crowding guys.....
i saw alistair overeem kicking chuck`s ass untill he got careless..he went right to him...i had liddell that night...but,i think he got lucky....quentin jackson ran him out of the ring....actually,jackson beat him at his own game...still..
do whatever you have to do...push him into the ropes....rough him up...
but,don`t stand outside...if he catches you coming in,so be it...don`t even come in to punch...protect yourself...come in to grab him...to take him down...

i'll be rooting for Randy but Van Arsdale rocked Randy a couple times in his last fight. I just think Liddell is too good right now.

Clark, I like Diaz. He is as scrappy a fighter as I've seen in a long time and can do anyting you want. My ONLY worry is that Riggs is a much bigger fighter. Honestly I think that Diaz will submit him. The kid has slinkies for legs.

Babalu will have no probs with Van Arsdale imo, he started as a wrestler, think he tried out for the brazilian team. Not as good as Van Arsdale but he trains with some of the best sub guys at gracie barra's combat team.
Mir/Cruz - First fight back from a major injury for Mir.
Diaz/Riggs - Riggs makes weight, close fight to call imo.
Randy/Chuck is too close to call.
Monson is safest bet imo, he has improved heaps since his last run at the UFC.
Buentello/Aldana - Buentello is much more experienced, never seen Aldana though.
Whitehead at 205 is a decent dog imo.

Randy is concerned with getting busted up which is why he requested a certain gentleman to work his corner tonite. I'd say Chuckie is going to KO Mr. Couture.

Kickserv, George will get his shot at Hughes if he can beat Penn. I love him but getting by Penn maybe too much. I think that is the fight that I'm most looking forward to.
I'm suprised so many people are on Randy tonight. My book is now 155 and +125. I could have middled this if I would have known it would move down so much. I've got 3 units on it but I think I may add 2 more to make it 5 total.
