Question for the forum -

I have one book offering the following lines
Ravens at -2.5
Colts 2.5
Phil 2.5

another one has them all three games at -3

do you think its worthwile to play GB now at plus 3 or BALT at -2.5 - my reasoning is I think that by Sunday - Balt may be 3.5 and GB maybe plus 1.5 or plus 2

dont think jets or colts line may move too much -

Im a diehard eagles fan, but this may be the worst possible matchup for the eagles - the eagles have always struggled with the 3-4 defense. The Pack can get pressure on Vick with Clay Mathews, Raji and Hawke, and the Pack secondary with Woodson can hang with Desean Jackson and Maclin...

In regards to defense, well lets just say, the best defense may be the use of McCoy running the ball to keep them off the field. (and we all know Andy hates to run)

The Pack can spread you out with 3 very good recievers in Jennings, Driver, Nelson and with a banged up secondary - Asante Samuel can only cover one of them - that leaves Dimitri Patterson and Joselio Hansen on the other two guys...not a good matchup at all with GB - combined with the fact that Rodgers will have all day because our d-line has not been getting pressure on the qb of late...I cannot see GB not putting up 27-31 on Sunday - that leaves the question, can the Eagles put up more. I know the last thing everyone saw of the Eagles was the MInny game, but the Giants game was more of the same until the final 8 min. - My final thought is the Eagles will hang until the mid 3rd quarter or so, but the Pack will pull away and win 27-20 - similar to the first game - I really think the wrong team is favored - but when that happens....well you know..

You know you could always spend a few extra bucks and buy any points you need to get the number you want....at least online books. But, I do think your reasoning is accurate. I do see GB line going down and BAL line going up.

The reason the Eagles have always struggled against the 3/4 D can be greatly attributed to the slow decision making and inability to make a quick read of one Donovan Mcnabb. The difference will be that when the pocket breaks down Michael Vick will be willing to take off which will be the one X factor that can change the profile of this matchup. He can turn a great passrush into a 40 yd scoot very easily. Be careful everyone

So. Cal
one cause for concern (and i dont think i really like the eagles)

didnt the packers come into last years playoffs the EXACT same way???

the "hot" wild card team that nobody wanted to face with the "stingy" defense????

playing a division champ that was average and struggling.....how'd that work out?

i know it's last year vs this year, but those similarities exist and seems like the whole world is touting the packers as the winner and matching up with the saints for the nfc title game.

Talking from an Eagles fan and from listening to talk radio here in Philly - the fans in majority are not real excited about this matchup. Alot beleive the key to the game is the Eagles Offense to the Pack Defense. In the first game when Vick came in, the Pack did not have film on him and a week to prepare. Dom Capers vs Morningweg - who do like in this matchup is the key I believe?

just outside of D.C.
Great write up Gmarco! For what it is worth, I think Philly will throw many blitz packages (like they always do) at Rodgers and force him to throw early. This will be an advantage to your other CB's! I think McCoy does play a big role here as well. Lack of GB running game will make GB one dimensional. I am not on GB band wagon.

Vicks scrambling capabilities wont allow the LB's to come out on all blitz packages (which they excel in) and will need to play contain. This will give Vick the opportunity to find his TE and his WR's down field....

I am a Cowboy fan and I for on am not a fan of your Eagles, the FAN or anything Philly...but I do think they take care of business this weekend at home. I will lay a FG or under in this spot. Philly kicker
(spacing on name s I type) kicks well at home in a tough place to kick....I am taking Philly

GL!!!

sorry for the short thoughts..I think the only way philly survives this week is if Vick plays FLAWLESS....reality is they havent played well as of late...Giants collaspe aside they been getting roughed up...Vicks second half of the season (once films were out) hasnt been close to even...personally with Phily playing LAZY(see Vikings game..) and the Pack fighting to get in for weeks...I think the Pack has the advantage..one Desean Jackson will be MAJOR key in this game..if he gets "mad" the offense usually sputters a little..he is usually "mad" when he is being shut down or out. Should be a fun game tho..BoL everyone
