Dallas, NY
I will be moving to Dallas in the end of august from NYC and was wondering if I will have a hard time finding a bookie just by asking around, I have a few friends I can ask but do u think I will have troubles findong one in case they can not help. It would suck to not have one right before football season (and yes i use offshore too)

Sorry there Mike, but Books historically are NOT the ones with problems paying...and you can take that to the bank....

You SHOULD have a hard time finding a credit book without a referral.

I respectfully disagree ironlock, I have been slow payed, or no paid by a few. I have also had them tell me to forget there phone number after they did pay. I admit there are alot of book's that honor and pay when they lose, but you may have to go through a few to find one, and hopefully find several ,to be able to line shop. ;)

So Cal
This might become an interesting thread. Like MJB, my "former" local stiffed me for almost $2500. Who else has been stiffed by locals?

I have, but I knew it was possible when I started the account with the guy. He was a college bookie, so I knew going in that it was unstable.

Most of the time, I don't give them an opportunity to stiff me, though!

There are as many books as there are streets...Just hook up with any Asian dude and probably 8 out 10 will know a local book. And my two cents about a bookie paying out; I have NEVER experienced a problem with a bookie paying me.
