sec guru - a lot a rumors float around in the betting world. if you see something posted about a team you are familiar and know it to be untrue, we all appreciate it when you speak up. this is a group effort around here. however, i do not consider it appropriate to accuse a longtime poster such as buddy of manufacturing false info, especially in your fourth post on this board. there are more diplomatic ways to debunk rumors, and consequently gain credibility and make friends here. just some food for thought - welcome to the board and looking forward to your contributions.

no prob

fwiw, "missmud" lists his location as Louisville, MS. I remember from reading his earlier posts that he is either an Ole' Miss or Miss State grad (I think it's Miss State). I do know that he follows Mississippi teams closely and he is reputable.

I have searched a few other sites and have not been able to find anything to substantiate the rumor. Still searching.

I don't know what to think.

The line makes me think Vegas wants Ole' Miss money, but look what happened with Pitt-1' @ SETON HALL last night.

All in all, I think this one is too close to the number for my liking.

What is the problem with the line? It is right in-order with recent lines for both teams. Miss is 1-6 on the road in the SEC. They are a super team on their own turf..not so good away. LSU is 3-4 at home vs the SEC...2pt loss at Alabama, won at Arkansas, lost by 1 last game to Georgia...not great, but they have been respectable. They have had injury problems..looks like they are relatively healthy for tonight's game. Look at the line histories for both teams...'Vegas' or whomever isn't looking for money on one side or the other...they posted a line on a decent LSU team at home against Miss team that has played poorly on the road..pass or play...no 'trap' or 'Vegas looking for whatever'.

Hoops. you're right.

There is no mistake with the line.

I was merely thinking in script.

I've said all along "Vegas does not hand out gifts", but when a team is 2-8 SU / ATS in its L 10 games and is only getting 2 points from a clearly better team, it just makes me curious. Then I began to wonder. Then I get suspicious. Then I begin to hallucinate.

Lemme' ask you Hoops, where do you place more weight? Team histories or recent performance?

Maybe LSU isn't as bad as their record indicates, but Ole' Miss needs this win tonight for #20.

Who has the greater motivation?

The team with something to play for or the spoiler?

I think it's the team with something to play for, but I thought that about Creighton the other nite and they lost outright.

So, where's the decided advantage in tonight's matchup?

A road team playing for #20 against a team going nowhere, 2-8 SU / ATS their L 10 at a "pk em"?

I don't know.

I'm off the game.

Sec guru....

Do you really think the sports information director would give you accurate information regarding any internal strife?

Did you expect him to say, "Yes, sec guru, there is a lot fighting amongst our team. Thank you for asking. While I'm at it let me give you some insight into our strategy for tonights game. Oh, and in case you care me and the wife are having problems due to my impotency. Is there anything you would like to know, guru?

Georgia needed a win for #20 last game...in LSU..and this was a Georgia team that had won at Florida and at Kentucky...they won by 1pt in a nailbiter..this was only 4 days ago..LSU had nothing to play for, Georgia did...line was a PK...same situation tonight...
