LIU Brook or now Sharks -4.5 over Sacred heart ***
LIU just beat them by 20 and can't see why the line is only 4-5 pts LIU has 6'8 Flowers who is probably the best player in the Northeast conf Flowers is 6'9 and is the Blackbirds leading scorer,rebounding,blocked shot, and 3 pt shooter. He can play the 5 and post up or the 3-4.. A very tough match up for any defense. Think LIU might not win this by 20 but think they can cover on the rd.. Flowers is a sweet lefty with a soft touch . LIU was always known as LIU. Now they are LIU Brooklyn and there nick name was always the Blackbirds I stole a library book out of my high school in 1967 and it was called "LIU Press breakers Offense "by Roy Rubin. Think it was the 1st ever book about basketball coaching I ever read. It had pictures of the players on the court instead of all X's and O's diagrams . I still had the book until a few months ago when I made the big move to Texas Years later I did mail in a donation to my HS and it was a guilt donation. Here I am a Principal of a HS stealing library books . The Sienfield Library show always makes me think about that stolen book but that was an over due book. About 5 or 6 years later while at North Texas we go to see the ABA's Dallas Chaparrals vs the NY Nets at Tarrant County stadium in Fort Worth. There are about 200 people in attendance and we sit right behind the Nets bench .Lou Carnessca is the Net coach and 6'11 Luther Green is on the bench. I yell over to him " LIU Blackbirds and Roy Rubin. " He turns around and smiles at me. All my buddies ask me How do you know his college coach . I couldn't tell them a few years before I stole his coaches book. Anyway Rick Barry had long hair and was the Nets star. Can't even remember who won the game .. So to me its the Blackbirds not the Sharks .. But for a small play will take the Sharks tonite
