I know Texas has some jacked up laws so I'm wondering if he really needed to hang up that sign? I thought you could just shoot people in Texas if they were on your property, even if just for sport?

I'll give him credit for warning them.

A person may use deadly force in self defense under Section 9.31 of Texas Penal Code if he: Knew the intruder unlawfully with force entered into his home, vehicle, or place of employment; or. Was being kidnapped; or. The intruder was attempting to sexually assault, rob, kidnap, or murder.

The assholes in this video should be put in jail for a long time :0074

So, looting falls under the "rob" category, right? You can just open fire on looters? I don't think it's bad law per se, but I can see where it may be flawed just a little bit.

Nah, standard procedure in my neck of the woods...we had a dude get no billed after he shot and killed two guys that were robbing his next door neighbors house in broad daylight, Joe Horn was his name.....under castle doctrine

I can't believe there are any states who don't have a castle doctrine. If someone unlawfully enters someone's house they should have the right to mow them down.

Some U.S. jurisdictions[SUP][which?][/SUP] require that a person retreat from an attack, and allow the use of deadly force in self-defense only when retreat is not possible or when retreat poses a danger to the person under attack. The duty to retreat is not universal, however. For example, police officers are not required to retreat when acting in the line of duty. Similarly, some courts have found no duty to retreat exists when a victim is assaulted in a place where the victim has a right to be, such as within one's own home.[SUP][2][/SUP] The Model Penal Code[SUP][3][/SUP] suggests statutory language that also recognizes an exception to the usual duty to retreat when the victim of the attack is in his or her own dwelling or place of work. It is common to exempt a person's home or car from the duty to retreat, known as the castle doctrine.

On the course!
Noticed the same thing, no work boots or work gloves stolen. Very few, (none), white folks stealing in the 4 or 5 looting videos I have seen during Irma.

New sneaks are work shoes. You can't run from the po-po in Doc Mar-en's.
