Bill, I had heard Jimbo but in all reality why would he do that? He's been recruiting better or at least as well as any other school since he's taken over and his road to the NC is MUCH easier than in the SEC West.
I'm not saying he wont' take it, just don't understand why he would.
If I'm reading how he talks and where he's come from, he loved his time at LSU and he wanted a job where he could become a HC and he got that when FSU told Bobby, "Bobby, you done son!". Jimbo is also the type who loves and enjoys challenges, and he's never been afraid to back down. Chances are he'll lose Dalvin Cook to the NFL along with several players from this year's team and what the cupboard has at LSU right now, with Fournette there for 2016 along with some early Top 300 verbal commitments, I'm sure he'd gander at that chance to go back to LSU.
Again, I think his personal life would play into that decision as much as his professional/coaching life.
One other person who's got some intel is saying Ed Orgeron for LSU? That made me laugh, but he's a cajun and he should be allowed another opportunity to coach. He had a shot at Ole Miss and things just didn't go well there because he had a crappy support staff, not the Admin, his coaching staff that is/was and they recruited horribly from 2005-2007. He's at LSU now but we heard if LSU buys out Les Miles, they will buy out the entire staff according to ESPN College daily live. I think personally Ed may go back to Syracuse where he once coached or one of these other jobs that will open late once the season is final this week and next week for many sub 500 teams.
Also hearing that Auburn is going to get rid of their DC, which is a no brainer, or Musch may leave for another opportunity as a HC. With the amount of talent Georgia had coming in and back from 2014, Musch has done diddly squat and this past weekend was probably the best the "D" has played other than in the Ky and Auburn games. But to be honest, this is his first year at Georgia and they made improvements on "D", but he's still got that itch to be a HC but he's a horse's ass. How else would Florida improve so much under a new HC w/little time to land new recruits that hadn't already been verbally committed to Florida in McElwain?
There truly aren't any other hot names out there other than Jimbo Fisher, no hot OC's out there, if Nebraska boots Riley, look for Scott Frost to get a shot at Nebraska job.
Maybe Iowa's coach would love to go to Baton Rouge? Now that would be a rumor that could go viral. LOL
Good stuff, Layinwood!
