Hudson Valley area.....NY
Rider-14.5 over Marist ****
Rider is the best team in the MAAC.. They bring back 4 starters that avg in double figures and last yr was pre-season to win the MAAC..but they had so may internal problems, injuries and the worst coaching job..they finished tied for 2nd with 4 other teams with a 16-15 record and 11-7 in conf...Baggett can recruit but he can't coach...they have the best pt gd in Jordan..I can't believe it was 4 years ago I saw this kid start as a frosh vs Marist sitting in row 1.. I fell in love with his game..his handle and court awareness was unreal,,now 3 years later he is one of the top assists players in the country...he handles the ball about 75% of the time..they have 6'9 Marshall who can score and rebound.Scott is 6'8 and can score inside and outside...but there best player is Vaughan who is 3rd in scoring but maybe the best player on the court..only 6'5 is a power fd last yr was a possible POY of the conf..he did get hurt but he can rebound and score...they added Nunex a transfer who avg 7 pts.
Red Foxes...cannot score..are in the 330's in scoring..have one player Cubbage avg double figures..they have the former St Peter coach Dunn who I love... big time defensive coach...so why did they go 12-19 last yr..I thought this would be a great hire coming for Peter...they did lose Parker and 3 other starters this yr.. Parker had the ball 85% of the time so Dunn is trying to deal with 4 new starters.. but Dunn is to good a coach so why are the Foxes so bad this year...here is my take... When Dunn was at St Peter that is an inner city school in Jersey City..an urban neighborhood...he recruited inner city kids that the Johnnies,Seton Halls ,Rutgers etc didn't want.. he took this kids that were athletic and made them good defensive players ,,then they developed their offensive game..when you played Peter you knew you were in for a tough physical game...the Rutgers and Halls didn't even want to play them..so now Dunn moves to Poughkeepsie which is somewhat inner city but not Jersey City...Foxes recruit kids from Finland,Norway, Denmark etc.. Dunn is not recruiting yet the type of player he had..in Jersey..think he will get there but in his 2nd year he's not there...
anyway Foxes will have match up problems trying to stop Marshall and Scott and there size.. Vaughn inside although only 6;5 plays like he is 6'9...total control of the bds on both Off and Def ...and with all this going on you have Jordan who is the maestro with the ball... they are playing at home...should win by +20 but Baggett is good for another 5 less pts..so they gives me a few pts to still cover...

Evanville -4 over Jacksonville ***
This game scares me because I have Evan at -6 or 7 pts..so will take the -4..
