If money is holding you back from getting the care that you need. Why don't you check to see if there is a dental school in Birmingham. Or in a city nearby.

Although you will be treated by a student he or she will be supervised by a licensed dentist. Hell..the worse thing they could do is pull the wrong tooth. Then they can start over again... and keep trying till they get the right one! HEY.. just kidding.
And no... they don't have to pull it. They will give you the care you need and it will be affordable. Better idea than an ER.

I was a social worker in Dallas for three years and worked closely with Baylor Dental School. This is a good option for you if there is a dental school in your city.

Good luck!

yup.....go to the dentist. he gave me antibiotic to take out the infection before he can do the repairs. i HATE the dentist too. i should have asked for percodan (sp?) but didn't.

btw- neemer, what's the difference between percodan and percocet? from experience it seems that dan works better than cet. is that right or is it imagination?

My father had an infected tooth and didn't go to the dentist and ended up with an infected heart valve that needed to be removed. (the valve not the tooth)
GO TO THE DENTIST !!! Regardless if it stops hurting. I find Motrin is the best nonnarcotic for tooth pain but Percodan is much better

Jack...

Nope it's not your imagination, they are similiar but yet different. Both narcotics contain the opiate Oxycodone which is an extremely strong analgesic to control pain. They both come in a few different milligram strengths.

PERCODAN contains the combination of oxycodone and ASPIRIN usually in doses of 325mg. PERCOCET also contains the drug oxycodone but it is combined with acetaminophen(tylenol) instead of aspirin. By your comments, it seems as if your body is responding better to the aspirin instead of the acetaminophen(tylenol).

FWIW saw a study a few years ago on
professional suicide rates #1 was dentists

reasoning is that they subconsciously know
they are inflicting pain...
