Is 3 points in an NCAA bball game worth .25? Is it worth .40? What about half, is it worth half a unit to some bettors?

i think buying points is smart in parlays mostly but also can be helpful in straight bets. i think you need to establish how much you are going to risk b4 deciding how many points to buy, then you can be happy with the winner no matter what and not as pissed if you lose because you set the amount of risk b4 figuring how much you would have won. this makes sense in my mind but i may not have typed it very clear

My rule of thumb is to play any dog I like getting less than 5 on the money line. Just under 90% over the years that the winner covers.

are you considering the GTOWN/CUSE game? if so, I would forget about taking CUSE no matter how many points you are willing to buy, unless your book offers 15 points.

typically you should be getting between $15-$20 per point on a ml dog

thus +3 should equate to +145 to +160
