Thanks for the reply.
i know you've been struggling (me too)
and just wondered ...
when you get in a bad streaks like this,
do you give it up for a while and stay away,
or just keep on trying
(chasing is the word I guess)
I guess thats the age old question.

Percentages and bankroll. I would AGREE. You may want to explain percentages for a few who have not been here to long. And I would believe there is a way a person would manage that bankroll. And for those who have another way. They would say they don't give a rats whatever. That they go another way. But this is a place for learning.

Are you guys kidding me? Did I strike a wrong nerve? The "guy" I was referring maggio to was none other than our own Nolan Dalla.

Go to MadJack's homepage...under "Articles of Interest" you'll find some of Nolan's superb write-ups on the topic of "managing a losing streak".

Sorry if I stuck my "amature" head in the wrong place.

Best of luck to all...

Thanks for the advice IE.
You know I would never question you,
just confused on one thing you said.
"I never sweat the small stuff".
What do you mean by that?
If I'm betting $100 plus per game and going
into a tailspin and losing a lot of games,
my bankroll is going to be dwindling....
it affects one's capping.
Are you saying that sooner or later...
"it will be there"
Just keep playing and it will turn???
I guess our definition of "small stuff"
is slightly different.
All I know is baseball is making my bankroll
vanish.
Time for a transfusion...or just lay off a while.
I think it's the toughest of all sports
to gamble on. Just my opinion.

Maggio, don't get ticked. But if your loosing a lot. Lower your amount just a little till you turn the corner. Many here will tell you I just told you the wrong thing. I don't think so. And I E, did not mean that to sound as it did. I' been here long enough to know that. There are streaks and when it starts the other way crank it back up some. And if you get on a good run. Your bank roll is caught up or even a little higher. Then take it up just a little more. Not a lot just a little. You have to be comfortable with what your doing. Do not jump off the person you been following. If you do when it turns you will miss it. If you change you could catch that persons down streak. So stay put. Or as you said stop. I Wish you good luck.

sorry for all the confusing posts last night...didn't come out exactly how i meant...

what i meant by small stuff is results over a period of 30-50 days..if one has a gameplan for a particular session of investing in sports and the bankroll to support it..its the only way to win...people lose because they get mentally worn out by the nature that the bankroll keeps dwindling and then start to panic...

w/ an offshore..if you have an account and you see it start going down and down and your balance starts to approach zero you start making plays that you normally would not make if your in your comfort zone...human nature...

w/ a local ...once you start to get close to the settle up figure..once again your out of your comfort zone and start to make plays you would normally not do...

have a gameplan of what your going to do..and have the bankroll layed out to carry it through...alot of times plans don't work..and small adjustments have to be made...but from being on the other side of the counter for many years i can tell yah...people lose cause they panic.

of course im not happy w/ results so far...but i have a gameplan and a goal of XX amounts of units that i want out of baseball this season in comparsion to my overall yearly budget...if it does not happen...i work harder for next year....and i go into the next session or round of sports investing..be it football....nhl..whatever...

i really don't work on a basis of one or two seasons in a particluar sport but rather a cycle of three years for each sport..and look at the bottom line after that period of time..

hope this clearer..sorry if it isn't...not the best at conveying thoughts in a medium such as a forum.

good luck the rest of the way...
