Round 1 play (4pts):

Rhys Davies to beat Lorenzo Gagli +110 @ Stan James
Not sure why Davies is the underdog in this matchup. He leads Gagli 4-2-1 h2h in 2012, but more importantly, he has the much better record in Asia. Gagli has played in just one event on this continent - he finished 48th in the Avantha Masters earlier this year - whereas Davies was an Asian PGA Tour player in 2008 and since the end of 2008, he has finished in the top-4 in more than a quarter of his 23 starts in Asia. In Malaysia alone, he finished 3rd in this event in 2010 having led after each of the first three rounds and he finished 3rd in last year's Johor Open, also in Malaysia. With Gagli never having played in Malaysia, let alone on this course, Davies should be favourite in this matchup.

[unofficial rd1 system plays: Luiten tb Jamieson -120; Bourdy tb Otto -120; Luiten tb Lewis -125; Dyson tb Grace -125; Noren tb Grace -120; Kaymer tb Manassero -125; Noren tb Lewis +110; Gallacher tb Jamieson -120; Dyson tb Siddikur -111; Rumford tb Garrido -111; Lawrie tb Green -120]

Round 2 play (2pts):

Soren Kjeldsen to beat Raphael Cabrera-Bello -111 @ Bet365 [also available @ Stan James]
No dropped shots, only one player (David Drysdale) hitting more greens in regulation and a top-10 position at the end of the day point to a very good day for the Dane. But given that he has finished 5th and 3rd in his last two starts and 34th and 13th in the last two years here, it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that he is in contention again this week. I'm backing him to remain so for at least one more round.

[unofficial rd2 system plays: Foster tb Fleetwood -110; Lewis tb Siddikur -125; Luiten tb Jamieson -125; Lewis tb Hend -138; Kaymer tb Manassero -125; Dyson tb Cabrera-Bello -105; Dyson tb Grace -125]
