Manhattan -1 over Fairfield
This is for 1st place in the MAAC.Jaspers have won 9 in a row since St Petes upset.Stags have won 6 in a row beating 3 of their conf teams on the road.
MAAC stats are unreal between these 2 teams. They rank almost 1 and 2 with Manhattan as 1 in almost 9 catogories.Scoring off, defense, margin, rebounding, etc
Jaspers take a lead in FT shooting 82% to 6th place Stags 75%.Blocked shots the Stags jump ahead.
But in 3 pt shooting both are tied for 1st with Jaspers hitting 49-119 to Stags 35-85.Pct % is tied at 41.2.
Although the Jaspers win the game of stats by a close margin Fairfield gets a big edge in turnover margin.
Both teams will pressure the ball.Goode and Todd are all over the floor.Deng Gai is unreal. Can stick a 3,hit an elbow jumper,or post up.His "cuz" Deng is a force inside.Add Thompson and Garcia and that is some frontline.
But the jaspers can answer that with Homlmes,Benton,Johnson, and Kono..k.
Front line goes to Fairfield because of a skinny "aircraft carrier".
Manhattan has Flores the best player in the MAAC.Smooth as silk. Can do it all.Gonzalez can move him to the pt or to the 2.He can take over a game.I see him penetrating the gds and then the big boys will "help".Thats when he dishes off.Jaspers other gds are avg.Minor is a frosh that is out of control. He has caused many turnovers. Goode and Todd will be in his face.Jackette their best shooter has been out during this win streak.Imagine losing your top shooter and not missing a beat. The rumor has it he is playing tonite. But could be rusty.
This is not a big play for me because either team can win. They are even.I think Bobby Gonzalez is a little better coach then O'Toole.Jaspers are a little better on defense.
Mahattan lyr won 20 games and thought they were going to the NCAA's.In the MAAC quarterfinals Fairfield upset them 81-74.Bobby G and his boys were sent packing.
I think if Flores plays his game and Holmes doesn't get into foul trouble the Jaspers win this one on the road.Big revenge game in the jaspers players minds. They have thought about this game all yr.
Both teams will play man and zones.Taking the Jaspers for a small play.No way anyone can predict without certainity this outcome.Stags could easily blow the jaspers out.Jaspers pressure and stopping Gai could give them a win
A lot of writeup for a small lean. It's just to hard capp.Better FT's,coach, revenge, and defense give the nod to the Bronx team.My father being a graduate of Manhattan has no play in this.

Rice -8 over Smoo
Rice at home with Mance,Harris,Gillespie and the Schenectady kid McKrieth will be to much to for Smoo's defense to handle.Ross for Smoo is a stud but Owls defense will center on him.Rice wins this by 10 or more

New orleans -9 over North Texas[got the line last nite at -8]
NO has been playing terribe. But are 8-0 at home vs weaker teams. In SBC games they have lost 3 in a row.But North Texas is even worse.Lost last 5 of 6.They have no pt gd since Hopkins went down.Teams are pressuring them.Davis is still in a big time slump.NT is losing home games to teams it should be winning.
Romero is a stud and Smith at the gd are a great scoring tandem.NT cannot rebound, play defense or pass the ball.
Like Delaware -2 over Drexal
Butler pk over Wisky-Mil
Denver +4 over So Bama

Best bet-Rice
Med play-New Orleans
Leans-Manhattan,Del,Butler,and Denver

If you pay attention to UNT then you should know that they have a freshman that is up and coming that will be better, if he already isn't, than any point guard they have had lately. Boxell is a player and will run the point for the next 3 years as well as anybody can. All he needs is a shot and I think Coach Jones is learning quickly he can't rely on Rodgers or anyone else for that position. Boxell knows basketball as his dad led him to a state championship in high school. Keep your eye on this kid. He can play!!
