My dad is a Marine, retired. Can't call him an ex-Marine because he says once a Marine, always a Marine. How true. I was rasied learning that.
My dad is Red, White and Blue all the way through. Flew F-4 Phantoms in Vietnam.
He asked me yesterday if I knew what Marines prayed for in the evening?
"No, sir", I said.
"War."
I know this really isn't true but he thought it might lighten the attitude around here a little.
"Trust our troops", he told me. "They are the best in the world. You can have Seals, and Delta and whatever else you want. Give me a platoon of Marines. Hooo-Yah!"
